What with the cascading chaos of IRS-gate, Snoop-on-the-media-gate, Benghazi-gate, and now the whopper of them all, NSA-gate, perhaps you were worried that Your Beloved Leaders might be too distracted to function.
But never fear, Dear Citizens! Your Public Servants remain fully dedicated, on the job, and as always, Devoted to their Sacred Responsibilities to We the People.
And lest you have any lingering doubt about that …*

* Anyone with lingering doubts about government can be expected to be discovered by the ever-helpful algorithms of the NSA and aided toward a better future by the FBI, DHS, ATF, and possibly the deeply solicitous and heavily armed agents of five or six secret agencies whose existence won’t be revealed until some future whistleblower does the job.**

** (ADDED) You know how it is when you say something awful about government as a bitter joke, then find out later it’s true? Well, that usually takes more than half an hour. But these days …

At least they’ll have enough ammunition. http://www.wnd.com/2013/05/inhofe-dhs-ammo-grab-to-dry-up-supply/
You know what is so sad about this NSA gate scandal is that 56% of the American people are totally OK with this spying. They have fully accepted the flawed argument that this will make us safer and is a fair trade.
What is even more sad is that the majority of these people are self-identified Democrats who were NOT OK with this when George Bush did it, but now that it is there guy in office raping them of their civil rights they are good to go and happy!
That is why this will NEVER go away because supposedly depending on which party you are in you are OK with being screwed by your neighborhood government goon. Here is the link if you want to see the poll yourself…

Maybe 56% of the American people are ok with spying because 56% of the American people really no longer understand the concpet of privacy? Could it be they really don’t care as long as they feel it isn’t directed at them personally and obviously? If you look at the enormous popularity of social media apps that allow continous updates of personal information to be broadcast to enormous amounts of people at once, privacy might not be that important to other people. The popularity of “reality” shows, talk shows, facebook, you tube etc are more evidence that most people don’t seem interested in privacy. We might not want our neighbors looking in our windows, but it seems many are ok with their neighbors and strangers looking through their social media windows.
I do not imagine sheep care if the shepherd and sheep dogs and herd owners etc watch them. It is part of their lives. I am pretty sure the sheep don’t care if lions and tigers and bears watch over them as long as they get to continue grazing, playing in the sun and reproducing. Sure, now and then one disappears from the flock, but that is what they get for being on the edge of the flock.
From the comfort of very far from there, every time I read about a dispensary in Cali being raided by the feds, I dream of the day where the people and state of Cali just say no.
I’m just waiting/hoping for the day I see their governor declare that the will of the people of his state trumps federal statute (not law), and commits CHP and CA NatGuard to block the feds from raiding legally licensed medicinal pot institutions.
Yup, I’m just waiting.
The raids will continue until morale improves.
And add the IRS to your TLA list. Yeah, they need AR-15s too. Seems everybody except use peaceable folk needs a medium-power semiauto carbine. Oh, “patrol rifle”. Excuse me. I’m so confused these days. Do IRS agents patrol?
Speaking of which, it seems the supply of AR parts is slowly returning. Were the money to show up, I could actually finish AR #2 now, albeit ordering from a couple different vendors.
[Yup, I’m just waiting.]
Hope you aren’t holding your breath. When the CA budget predictions unravel the governor knows he’ll need a bailout. I’ve seen too many abusive relationships to think he’ll bite the hand that feeds him.
Good to see the feds are ignoring this piddly shit about spying on everyone, and taking care of really important business: keeping people in pain from having any relief. I just don’t know how we’d manage to get along in this world without our rulers taking care of us.
It’s a good thing the AP and Rosen stories broke before the Snowden leak. Otherwise the NSA violations would have been cycled out of the news by now.
