Really cool preparedness pack giveaway

Be back later with actual content. In the meantime, here’s a great giveaway and a little laugh.

The giveaway

The folks at BioLite (the stove that’s almost as cool & groovy as my favorite old device formerly known as Pyromid, now EcoQue) are giving away a preparedness pack that’s loaded with some of the best of the best preparedness equipment. A SteriPen water purifier, versatile Eton FRX3 emergency radio (one of which I have, courtesy of friend T.), Mountain House entrees, and of course a BioLite campstove, among other things. Check it out. (You’ll need JavaScript enabled to see the full list of items.) Ends October 31.

The laugh (or cry, depending on your state of mind)

Thanks for linking the giveaway. And I laugh so I don’t cry.

The thing is, Mos Eisley was a decent free market place. In that type of economy there will be some scum and villainy, but it will face the same competition everyone else does. In DC the scum and villainy have no competition- by law. I know which of the two I’d choose- no contest. (And it wouldn’t be DC!)

Now this is interesting… from the “Terms and Conditions” page.
    http://www.biolitestove.com/footer/terms-conditions.html
“You may not purchase any Products for further distribution or resale or for any other commercial or business purpose or share them with any other person.”

So… hmmm, I can’t buy stuff from them and give as a gift or ?? Can’t “share with any other person?”

Why, and just how do they expect to police that?

Ok, I’m a nit picker sometimes. 🙂 And dumb enough to always read the “terms and conditions.”

Kent, has it right with Mos Eisley except for slavery. It was never made clear from the movies whether the “slaves” were folks that willingly entered into contracts of indentured servitude or if they were taken against their will. In the newer films the Hutts acted as arbitrators so I would think the slaves were captured. hard to tell. However between Mos Eisley and DC, DC wins the top evil empire prize.

Even though the article is a bit dated (published May of this year) and doesn’t quite fit with the theme of this post, I thought I’d let you know anyway, Claire.
Then again it is sort of laughable if you read some of the anti-gun-politician’s responses towards the end of it. Just another prime example of how free enterprise will circumvent any kind of stupid law there is… .
