Ooooh. That poor pup! I’ll bet he would have had some choice words for his “big brother” had he been able to talk!

Loved the poster of Eva Green. One sexy lady despite the poor gun handling.

To take nothing away from the “we could be here all day…” topic of awful gunhandling in film:

If Green is playing the character I think she is, it would actually be kinda surprising to have her exhibit anything other than reckless gunhandling. And given that the poster is probably a verbatim frame from the book*, I’m pretty sure I’m right on the casting.

Atrocious gunhandling, sure. But on a black-hat character it somehow seems less offensive. There’s enough to focus on with terrible handling among people you are supposed to sympathize with. (You know, since none but gunnies pay attention to gunhandling in film anyway. 🙂

    * I admit I’m working from memory there, but I’m also pretty sure about that. And I know it’s also been a specific goal of the films to faithfully reproduce the powerful and distinctively styled imagery from the books. (The other posters also look like they could have come right off Miller’s page.)

The “double scoring” for blacks and Latinos isn’t just “soft racism,” as Bovard calls it.

It’s training minorities to become a permanent, immovable part of the underclass’s lower strata.

Maybe the minorities should feel lucky. Real Progressives believe in eugenics. The way the movement’s rich, white founders all did.

One suspects the standards for illegals to join our military will similarly be watered down. After all, it doesn’t take a lot of brains to decide to shoot at us. http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/report-undocumented-immigrants-will-be-able-join-military_793968.html

Perhaps it would just be better if we all left our guns at home. http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2014/may/31/chilis-sonic-drive-tell-gun-owners-leave-firearms-/

If Shinseki was a “good man” who was lied to by other bureaucrats, then they should bear much more of the blame and serious criminal punishment. Anybody give odds that will happen under BHO?

At least they’re working on PTSD treatment for vets. http://www.defenseone.com/technology/2014/05/D1-Tucker-military-building-brain-chips-treat-ptsd/85360/

Lessee……seven comments…..and not one about the damm cop in the VA.
I guess movies and books are more important! NOT!! Funny thing about this gun handling stuff. I remember when I was a kid we played cops ans robbers, cowboys and indians, war games, etc. And yes we pointed cap pistols at each other…can you imagine that…. Now, today, good Lord, if a kid did that some damm cop would probably shoot him or her. Not to mention some PC bullcrap about safe gun handling……. Bah! Oh, by the way, most of us kids if not all grew up to be responsible hunters, shooters, NRA instructors…..and as far as I know everyone of my buddies never ever shot someone or did anything unsafe with a real gun.

The cops’ treatment of Vets is, unfortunately, really not news. The abuse has been ongoing for some time now. Hell, Sly Stallone made a movie about that, in a way.

As for the dog and the “poor pup”, how about a drunk partying cat?

Can’t see why it would be more terrible to abuse veterans than anyone else. A little tired of this privileged class stuff.

What are any of us doing to end the abuse? Of veterans, the developmentally delayed, the toddlers being burned in their cribs… Isn’t the answer the same?

That Bovard article is a real hot-button for me, but maybe not in the way you would imagine.

I recall, years ago, seeing the headline of the Oregonian (newspaper) saying something like, “Despite many efforts, black school children still fall behind”. I thought to myself, have the editors bothered to put themselves in a black kid’s shoes and try reading that headline? Ugh.

I call this kind of person the “White Man’s burden” type of racist:

It never would occur to people that government education standards are bullshit no matter how they are set up, or that school is not necessary at all. Government really has to work to destroy the incentive to learn among children. It’s the “help” and “concern” of the bureaucrats that is the problem.
