Over at The Zelman Partisans, I reflect on the puzzle of Alan Gottlieb’s persistent attachment to universal background checks (first raised by Herschel Smith).

“Reflect[ing] on the puzzle” may be in the category of “useful, but somewhat academic”. The only thing I do know for sure is this: if you’re right–and I’ll admit, I believe you over Alan’s (many) apologists–there will inevitably be a chance to see it manifest itself. You need not even be correct right now, in order to be correct.
At that time, just like Manchin-Toomey-(Schumer), the answer will (again) be a simple “NO.”
I no longer give a squat what gun control advocates can say, do, pass into law, or whatever. I will not comply, not register, not surrender even a dented magazine, and not cooperate with any of it. My response will always be ‘NO!’, and if pushed, my gun will speak ‘HELL NO!’.
So I’ll let my JPFO membership go quietly into that dark night, and I’ll glom onto the Zelman Partisans. I’m pleased that website is in operation.
