It’s been decades since I read The Star, but it’s one of those stories I remember.

jed — That story never ceases to move me. I first read it when I was a kid and the impact it has is just as strong now. You know that the narrator’s anguish will never end.
The Christmas tale and it’s description of leaving a dying habitat makes me think of the ’70’s book, Alternative 003. One does have to wonder about these things.
