Yes, I think most of us who worked with David knew that (despite his “any chair in a bar fight” philosophy of gun rights), his principles wouldn’t allow him to work for long in an atmosphere of Gottliebian compromise.
But I was surprised, too, at how little time it took. And I’m a little surprised at the particular issue.
KABA is supposed to be a NEWS site, and heaven knows Mike Vanderboegh generates real gun news. Gottlieb nerfed KABA shortly after buying it, and as David says, it’s certainly Gottlieb’s right to ban news from KABA if he wishes. But boy, it just seems dumb-dumb-dumb to keep Mike-news off KABA out of personal spite, and even dumber to provoke David by doing that.
Gottlieb, if nothing else, is supposed to be smart.

I’ve refrained from saying “I told you so” on David’s blog, but I still had some public thoughts on the matter.
My criticism of Gottlieb essentially regards his (lack of) ethics. I never thought he was stupid. Certainly not stupid enough to run off David, this quickly, after so many people predicted Gottlieb’s self-serving, [self-censored], manipulative ways would do just that.
Could be I was wrong; or maybe he’s also simply crazy enough to counter his cleverness.
Im glad to see so many people see through Gottleib.Has all the credibility of a TV Evangelist.Total sell out.

G reminds me of Doug Ritter,another butt kisser who gets his jollies being next to people of power and influence as he describes them(BARF!!!More like degenerates in suits),be dam careful what YOU DARE say around Dougie because he is the LAW,right down to his ‘Sheriffs’.Its like little kids playing war….Im the Nazi General,stand at attention prisoner!!

I suspect David’s not going to get invited to all the same parties as he used to. I wonder if we will get to hear him on AAR after this.
We may yet see how far the tentacles of the Gottleib empire reach.
If Gottleib has that much effect on AAR it will change my listening habits.

Well, anecdotal evidence says he does. Shortly after the JPFO sellout, one of our TZP folks was scheduled to be on and after being kept hanging right up to the last minute of the show, she was dumped. Gottlieb, OTHO, had been given a whole hour in the same show.
Just anecdotal of course. People do get bumped from live shows all the time. But the circumstances seemed suspicious. And to my knowledge, nobody from TZP has been invited again.

Good for David. Too bad for Gottleib, but this kind of behavior means I’ll support nothing that I know he’s associated with. Well, maybe a few bucks for a SAF legal fight sometimes, but only those where the goal isn’t a measured surrender to the tyranny-monkeys.
