Rally in Roseburg, this Friday the 9th

HEADS UP! Obama’s headed to Roseburg, Oregon, on Friday to continue politicizing the UCC murders for the sake of his anti-gun agenda. Locals and other activists are responding with a rally telling the Hoplophobe in Chief that he and his anti-rights agenda aren’t welcome in rural Oregon.

If you’re in the area and can attend, please send reports and photos. I’ll gladly post them here.

(Tip o’ hat to LS for the word)

Wonder if the protesters’ll find that the Free Speech Cage has been erected more than a mile from anywhere the prez is likely to go? And whether it’ll be lined with razor wire and surrounded by cops armed with (good! healthsome!) “patrol rifles?”

Because I’m guessing yes and yes.

Wow! What self-serving hubris. Who could possibly benefit from this polarizing visit? I see gun-control as a liberal-democrat political issue as a dud. People are so inured that they move on within a couple of weeks even with the shrill and unyielding lick-spittle press drumming the tune. This is rural Oregon. Like the Northernmost reaches of California, it is fairly conservative (except, perhaps for the marijuana issue) and overtly Western, culturally. The Magic Kenyan is detested when not ignored. He may as well hold the rally in Ariel, in the Shomron area of Israel. I am sure it will be stage managed by a whole host of professionals, but… Cui Bono?

Y.B. — Agreed it’s hubris — and blood dancing — for Obama to show up in Roseburg. To clarify, he isn’t the one planning a rally. Though of course he’s going to be arriving amid all manner of carefully stage-managed fanfare, I believe he’s going to do quieter things like meet with the families of the victims to pretend he cares about them. And no doubt make self-righteous statements to the media — and to do it as Joel says, far from the messy crowd of peasants who are the ones planning the rally.

“Now taking bets on whether their protest gets either relegated to a “free speech zone” or the participants face some kind of jackbooted action.”

Actually, if I were a betting man, if the protesters try to move further from the “free speech zones”, I’d bet the Secret Service guys would definitely shoot the masses, no matter who they may be. Men, Women, and yes, even kids. I would not put it past them to do just that.

I’m 150 miles sorta North, and the Baroness told me “Go!”. I’ll do my best. We’re starting to feel that this whole thing is along the same lines as Sandy Hoax. Too many questions, not enough answers.

Unclezip — I hope you can make it — and that you’ll take a camera and send reports. I thank Her Graciousness, the Baroness. 🙂

BO knows that his appearance will serve to re-infect the anti-gun zombie blood-dancers all over the country. And you can be sure the media won’t be covering any pro-gun protest at all. If anything they will all be considered potential assassins and cornered into some rights-free zone away from the event. But it’ll play in Peoria, as they say. More specifically, it’ll play well in any leftist coward enclave where ‘rights’ only belong to minorities and patriotic citizens are considered threats. Chicago, Detroit, NYC, California, etc.

I’m just still puzzled by the phenomenon of blood dancing. I have a friend who still shivers visibly every time I tell him about my Jeffrey Dahmer encounter – but he makes me tell it anyway. And this is a guy who served 2 tours in ‘Nam. I imagine all the blood-dancers are similar in their reaction to mass killings – they get so frightened or grossed out that it’s like some kind of perv orgasm for them, and they want to have that feeling over and over again.

I’m tempted, but Texas is a bit too far away.

So I’ll just advise participants to be really cautious. This is the kind of event situation that could go terribly wrong just by accident, even without a conspiracy.

I’d bet the Secret Service guys would definitely shoot the masses…

If I had to guess, any “free speech” zone will be subcontracted to an agency other than Secret Service. They’ll be concentrated thin around PotUS.

    The rally goes viral:

    From Kit Lange:

t’s been roughly 36 hours since a patriot in Oregon—local activist Casey Runyan—posted on Facebook to say that “on Friday, we assemble.” Runyan’s words were a direct call to patriots in the Pacific NW to stand with citizens in Roseburg who have already made it clear that Obama is not welcome there for his planned visit on Friday. The call was regional…but the answer was national. The rally went viral. Not even the mainstream Obama cheering section can ignore it anymore.

In that 36 hours, 23,000 people have been invited on Facebook alone, not counting emails, Twitter, and other social media. Watching the incoming links on PHS yesterday, I counted no less than 26 various patriot, gun, and prepper forums who were discussing it. Almost 2,500 people are listed as “going” on Facebook with another 1,000 as “maybe.” A search on Facebook for posts about the rally net an astronomical number of results. To say that Runyan’s words sparked a firestorm is like saying Hillary is possibly a bit of a liar.

[And no doubt make self-righteous statements to the media — and to do it as Joel says, far from the messy crowd of peasants who are the ones planning the rally.]

Not that that matters at all. The point is that the media will see it, and some of them might even report it.

I don’t see any shootups happening, even if some protesters carry M1As. That just wouldn’t fit the ruler agenda – unless they are desperate enough to try some kind of Matt Brackenesque ploy. They might be pretty desperate, but I don’t see enough time for them to orchestrate the mess properly, and there are too many unknowns in play. So I’m betting nothing will happen, except Obama looking like an asshole. And the “city fathers” urging him to come, losing their next elections…
