Well, gang. Sorry to say, but the tip jar is on the counter. Didn’t want to do it, but Amazon links just aren’t sizzling this season. They’re steady and November was a good month (though not a great November, if you get the difference). However, unless you all are planning to give car parts, door hinges, and electrical cable to your loved ones, there’s nary a sign of Christmas buying.
If that means you’ve dropped out of rampant consumerism, I salute you. If that means you’re dead-flat busted, I hope your 2016 is better.
Still, without Christmas sizzle to cover a few extra expenses … there’s the tip jar.
Now before you drop in your hard-earned money, a couple of caveats. First, unlike two summers ago when you blessedly rescued me from a double-whammy roof repair, I’m not in urgent need. I have a few extra bills to pay (medical, bathroom remodel) and the car needs tires. But in no way am I hurting. If you know a blogger who’s in really serious need this cold holiday season, please give to them, not me. Second, know that I am paid to write this blog. The pay is based on me posting once a week. Since I post more than that the Duffys kindly allow me to do extra fundraising.
So drop me a tip if you really enjoy this blog and have some extra in your wallet. Otherwise … just thanks for being here and please, if you can, send some cheer to a blogger whose need is greater than mine.

I never recorded your address anyplace permanent. The last book shipment came in a grey vinyl envelope, and it’s actually possible to smear magic marker on some surfaces, so the most I could make out was “PO Bo” and 1 number.
Just the other day, I gave up on Amazon for a couple things. Sometimes, too much choice is a bad thing.

jed, are you asking me to send my addy or just observing that you don’t have it? (I’d hate to force it upon you with implications that you should do something with it.) And that’s news to me about permanent marker being able to smear that way. I’ll be more careful now, at least of the “to” addresses I put on vinyl envelopes.
