    During my Vietnam vacation we found a cache with (among other things) several Nazi-proof-marked Mausers.

    Love to know how they got there.

    Who was it who said that if it’s time to bury your guns, it’s time to dig them up? Makes sense to me.

    Me too. The best place to “cache” them is in your holster. (Although weaponsman’s article on Constructing Secret Hiding Places was very interesting.)

    Here are a few truisms:
    Caching weapons is a long term proposition;
    You are preparing for the future not the present;
    You are only caching extra weapons;
    Use 8″-9″ PVC pipe capped at both ends, with weapons and amminution properly wrapped and the tube filled with adequate amounts of oxygen absorbents;
    Bury the cache deep and scatter pieces of trash iron in different layers above the cache;
    Do not go and periodically service your caches, the whole idea is that nobody will know where your caches are unless you inadvertly show them.
