With “elections” and embassies, “citizens” and police… sounds like it will grow up to be another tyranny state.
How do they plan to pay for all of that without taxes?

I’m pulling for these folks, but the truth is that the “terra nulla” status will last until precisely the moment their liberty is used to circumvent the laws of their neighbors or people who can influence their neighbors. Watch what happens, for example, when they refuse to enforce U.S. tax regulations on current or former citizens. Those cops on the border will cross it in a skinny minute. I like the idea of micronations, but other countries generally don’t, and they have no means of protecting themselves.

The first thought that enters my mind when I see something like this is if it looks to good to be true… Now having written that I hope they make it work but the odds are stacked against them.

If I were TPTB, I’d let them get all settled in their new housing complex, then I’d decide whether or not to take them into custody, or simply leave them in custody in place.
