Well, this is bizarre. On the blog main page, “proud American Jew” is not a link. On the post page, it is.
Yepper. Just looked at the page source. No anchor tag there at all.
Not bizarre, jed. Just the way the summaries on this version of WP work.
I can override the standard summaries and place the actual text, with hyperlink, into the summary. I usually do that only for links posts, since the summary makes a royal mess of those. But perhaps I should do that with short posts like this one, also.
Oh, well. Thanks for the explanation. I find that odd, but then many people don’t share my definitions. I wouldn’t expect a post that short to get a summary and a “continue reading” button either.
This theme gives ALL posts a summary and “continue reading” button. It’s just a baked-in thing. At the BHM blog, I decided which posts did and didn’t get a “continued” link. Here … not as far as I can tell.
It does make for a nice-looking front page, though.
