That’s exactly what I thought. It should be ‘branded’ a racist to shame it.

Cattle have the right of way here, so best be patient. They are fun to watch… in a placid, mindless sort of way. 🙂

Embiggenate? Peckniffery? Off to the dictionary I go…

Hilarious picture. Here in Iowa all the cattle are behind fences. Not much ranching goes on here!

knobster — You’ll seek in vain for embiggenate, but pecksniff, pecksniffian, and pecksniffery are all (alas) real things.

“Embiggenate” is a completely cromulent word.

Love that one, Silver! This morning my shooting friends and I had to chase off the antelope that inhabit the rifle range here before we could get started. The darn things are hard to discourage, and we have to be so very careful not to shoot one! They seem to think it is safe to hide behind the target stands!! A good lesson for the novices in the difference between “cover” and “concealment.”

They are especially a problem in the spring when they congregate at the far end of the range in the rough terrain to have their fawns.

That appears to be South Africa, so I’m not sure what kind of critters they are. But if they’re related to elk or deer, they have antlers, not horns.
OTOH, if it’s the time of year when the bulls have antlers, they’re probably horny.

BTW, if you Google “pecksniff” you get a bunch of listings for an English brand of “Fine fragrances and mood therapy” type stuff. I wonder if they advertise the other definition?

And yes! Pecksniff’s is available through Amazon!

This past weekend I saw a black guy with one of the t-shirts that has a silhouette of an AR-15 and says, “It’s because I’m black, isn’t it?” I told him it looked good on him.
