- I bitch about the man. He is a loathsome toad. But I do understand why people place their hopes in Trump and stand by their views. Especially with more of Hillary’s evil being revealed every moment.
- And as Vin Suprynowicz reminds us, those Hillarian evils are oozing out despite the media’s most shamelessly shameful efforts.
- There are still, even in this Augean stable of an election, rare moments of civility between the parties. A cynic might see it as collegiality among rival bands of brigands.
- Okay, so you achieved “unawareness.” Got a little problem with “compliant” part, though. Hershel Smith explains, with particular emphasis on being armed and non-compliant.
- After all this, some spiritual beauty sounds like good therapy.
- And the knowledge that even in this jaded world, there are still intriguing mysteries right before our eyes.
- And dogs. Lying doggo. In some pretty strange places.

There are no good choices here.
There are only “least bad” choices here.
If you expect other/better, you are lying to your self.
Trump is betting that when he doesn’t take a firm stance on any specific policy/issue, he will take votes away from Hillary. He’s probably right!
That doesn’t make it A Good Thing, or A Bad Thing. That’s just the way it is.
Nobody has less confidence in our ability to establish a palatable government than do I;
… and nobody has less confidence in whatever government we “elect” this year
I’m not surprised by Democrats helping Republicans in N.C.; it’s the act of neighbor helping neighbor in any crisis. And at risk of starting a 2nd War Between the States, the South does care for even its enemy-neighbors far better than the Yankees do. They’ll go back to fighting tomorrow when the fight is fair again; they may try to kill you, but they won’t kick you when you’re down.
That kaleidoscopic effect in the cathedral is spectacular. I would not want to hear it played for long periods of time, though, and not at all from outside the building.
When political hysteria sets in, it’s usually out of fear. The leftists have much to fear, and they know exactly where they’ll end up if Trump — or Johnson, or McMullin (http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/how-evan-mcmullin-could-win-utah-and-the-presidency/) — wins. Much of Obama’s socialist/racist/sexist/hoplophobist work will be questioned, and some (we can hope) may even be put in jeopardy.
One of the commenters over at TCJ linked to this poem. Pretty nice.

They really need to quit telling me it will be okay because they will grandfather my guns.
I am a grandfather. It makes me think about my grandchildren.
They don’t want me thinking about my grandchildren.
I just looked at the Captains Journal link. I didn’t realize it was this bad, that you guys had let your public servants become public masters to the point of taking away your means of self defense. No matter who manages to come out of the current train wreak of an election as your new imperious leader, you guys are in for a very rough time.
On the plus side of the equation at least you folks still have options.

This is really to good not to share. The Most Appalling Zillow Listing of All Time Is Also a Distillation of the American Dream
Well, I admit that “good” is uh, err … it depends. I also think the Slate headline is misleading.
M Ryan — Not the masters yet, my Canadian friend. That POS legislation’s been around a while. Dems score points with anti-gunners by sponsoring it. They’d have to have more balls than they possess actually to pass the thing.
Something interesting I came across today: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Printer_steganography
Our public servants have thought they were our public masters since roughly six picoseconds after the constitution was ratified (See: Whiskey Rebellion) but they’ve always had a hard time dotting that final i.
Recent attempts at actually disarming even the most otherwise ‘law-abiding’ (I’ve grown to hate that phrase) citizens have provided a very heartening message that the spirit of F*ck You is not dead in even the non-flyover parts of America. You can pass laws, but good luck enforcing them if virtually everyone defies you.
