I don’t mention Claire’s Cabal much. But it seems time for a small update.
First, we have a couple of public areas in the forum, to give a small taste. I’ve just posted a copy of this excellent article by Silver where anyone can see it. If you thought you knew every malign effect of the Federal Reserve, he describes one you probably hadn’t considered.
Second, we’re in the process of starting up a “Members Helping Members” section where volunteers can offer assistance with anything from transportation and a place to stay to professional advice. Just announced it today and will be developing it with suggestions from Cabal members and the tech wisdom of Bill St. Clair.
Third, We also now offer large discounts for membership renewals. (Renewals only; so you’ll have something to look forward to if you join up.)
Fourth, this isn’t new, but I try to post a handful of items in the Downloads and Articles pages every month. In Downloads you’ll now find (among other things) both the manuscript copy and a film script of RebelFire: Out of the Gray Zone and both of Joel Simon’s terrific Walt’s Gulch novels (special editions, updated for the Cabal). In December, I’ll be uploading Joel’s little book on homemade solar power. All these are free to Cabal members.
Finally, if you’re one of the people who earned a free membership by donating to last summer’s fundraiser and you haven’t joined yet, jump right in. There are only a couple of you, but your free-membership coupons will expire at the end of the year.
The Cabal is a small, intimate place. We have only 70 or so members and not all of them are active. But it’s a place for do-ers and it’s filled with smart, experienced people who know what they’re doing when it comes to living and thinking free. While some of us are “elders,” there’s also a strong contingent of 30- and 40-somethings who are doing big things, sometimes in their own lives, and sometimes in liberty activism. All in all, a great place to be, to enjoy, and to learn.

The Fed’s inflation is the driving force for economic disparity. Those who profit from the new “money” first prosper, the rest of us try to limit the damage of rising prices and stagnant wages. Remember Voluntary exchange is profitable to buyer and seller both and neighbor is another word for potential ally.
As an active member of Claire’s Cabal, I appreciate the benefits Claire lists here. If you are tired of the nonsense and fighting at typical “freedom” blogs and fora, and have no desire to control what others think and do… you will likely find a lot of value at Claire’s forum.
