Just an artsy-snowy picture

One day last week we were expecting an ice storm. Never did get it, but we received a pretty little snow dusting. I took this photo, which I just remembered while going through the camera card for last post’s Boy Scout image.

Taken through a window with melting snow droplets on it. Artsy on purpose, seriously. Not just a bad photo because I was too cozy and warm to want to venture outside. Truth.

Somehow won’t let me comment on the Scout thread so I’ll do it here. I was a Cub Scout, thrown out for an impulsive act of squirting fellow scouts briefly with a kitchen sink dish cleaner hose because I was poor and had never seen one before and was fascinated. I was a Boy Scout for two weeks until the meeting hall threw us out but I bought lots of Merit Badge books for 25 cents each with work money, learned a lot, as well as the Field Book, better than the Handbook. I was not morally pure and never have been LOL. Since Utah subscribes to more pornography than any other state I wonder if the Mormon scouts are. A friend of mine insisted her son make Eagle because she said Eagle Scouts become successes. I have always wondered if true as Pres. Ford and Charlie Whitman aka TX sniper were both Eagles. Go figure.

Aother Eagle is Rex Tillerson, Exxon CEO, and Trump’s pick for SOS. Is that a plus or minus? 🙂

Hmm…maybe the thirteenth scout virtue is cunning?

We got about 4″ here at elevation in the PDX metro area. Starting to melt off today, should have clear streets in my neighborhood by tomorrow.

And here I thought you had painted this and then I looked a little closer… Very nice and a great idea too. I think the next time we have similar conditions I may just try this.

It does look like an impressionist painting, doesn’t it, M Ryan? I was quite pleased, even though the effect was mostly an accident.

    “Need more wool?”

All knitters always need more wool. 🙂 It’s one of the ironclad rulz of knitting; enough is NEVER enough! That said, I’m actually quite well set for my next five or six projects. So unless you just happen to have extra wool sitting about, or you have a special-request project that’s within my means and you want to supply the material for it, thank you but I’m really very, very good.

Heh. You have knitting on the mind, C.

I should have been more specific. I’m referring to blankets and the like to combat the cold. The next level up from woobies, basically.

Harbor Freight has some decent ones at reasonable prices.

    Lemme know.

As for virtues, I simply try to live up to Kipling’s “If.” http://www.poetryloverspage.com/poets/kipling/if.html I can’t, of course, but it’s worth the effort to try. FWIW, his son was killed in combat in WWI. He had failed his medical due to poor eyesight and Kipling pulled strings to get him a commission. Has to be some guilt there.
