I’m not a fan of Nate Silver but I have come to respect him because he is right too much of the time. IMHO the MSM is out of touch with a large portion of the country because a large portion (and only heavens knows why exactly) of this country have not allowed themselves to be brainwashed by our government run education system & the MSM along with their leftist allies.

All the MSM needs is diversity; “demographic diversity, political diversity, diversity of skill sets” if it ever wants to get some of it’s credibility back again with many however for many like me there just may never be a going back to ever taking anything they espouse as being anything but their utter bias and them trying get all of us suckers to buy into it.

What if Lenin had been inspired by The Marx Brothers instead of Karl Marx? History would be different, for the better. Wouldn’t giving the town of Trier a statue of Karl Marx be sort of like giving Revere High School a statue of Jeffrey Dahmer?
I fell out of a moving dump truck once (maybe 20 or 25 MPH). I hit a grassy ditch and a chain link fence. I walked away from it, but I don’t recommend it.

Nuthin’ like honoring an IYI whose failed philosophy led to some sixty million dead bodies in the 20th Century alone.

All the MSM needs is diversity

Back in the day “diversity” was at the publication level. A city would have a Democratic newspaper, a Republican newspaper, a Socialist newspaper, a German newspaper, a Polish newspaper, and so forth.

Then J-Schools decided newspapers should be “impartial.”

45 years ago I bailed out of the back door of a car doing almost 40 on a wide sidewalk heading for a pond*. Still have the scar on my hip.
I would try “anything” else were I driving a ‘runaway car’: cram it into Park(cars probably going to be totaled anyway) although I don’t know if that works, side-swipe or t-bone any available trees or power poles, I’d even try a full left in an attempt to skid or even roll it.
I’ll never jump out of one again!

*The sooo stoned driver and other passengers escaped with cuts and bruises after riding it out. The pond was only a couple feet deep.

Yikes. Chad. I hope you never have to bail out of one again. Thanks for the voice of experience.

But what if you weren’t the driver? Maybe a captive. Maybe the passenger of some nutcase? (http://www.jackson-pollock.com/downfall.html)

Burner phones… with all that’s going on all I have to say is, well duh. This issue isn’t just in the not so United States, it’s everywhere. I travel to Europe every year or so to see friends and family. What I’ve noticed over the past few trips is crossing borders has become a chore. It doesn’t matter what your ethnicity is all it takes is one smart ass remark to get hauled out of line for a secondary inspection. As for sanitizing a phone, there are forensic techniques that can get around this. Remember deleting something doesn’t necessarily mean it’s deleted.

Californians… Last one out please turn off the lights.

I saw the Jack Russel video last night and it cracked me up.

    1. Try the parking brake before shifting the transmission.
    2. “Modern” cars tend to “protect” you from shifting the transmission in ways that would cause damage. Of course the car doesn’t know if it’s about to plunge off a cliff.
    3. In almost any situation not involving kidnapping, you are better off staying in the car with the seatbelts fastened.

“But what if you weren’t the driver? Maybe a captive. Maybe the passenger of some nutcase? ”
I’d go for the driver and the steering wheel and hope for the best.
    I ain’t jumping!

    Larry:
I’d figure a “runaway car” had no emergency brake available.
    I had assumed that Park wouldn’t help…progress…
Seatbelts and airbags are the reasons for my choices now, even to rolling.
    Back in the day, though…

It is almost as disturbing, not just the phone searching, but that so many people say, “Oh, OK. Here you go,” and just hand it over. I guess if you have someplace else you need to be…..
