  • The latest idiocy from academia: You may suffer from cognitive privilege. In other words, if you’re not stupid, shame on you! Your very existence is unfair to the dumbasses of the world. (H/T DB)
  • Donald Trump: The salesman who can’t close the deal.
  • Life wasn’t a quirk of biology, says a controversial theory. It was an inevitability of physics.
  • Yo. Whassup with Ford and all this weed?
  • Whassup in Baltimore is that the city has dropped nearly three dozen gun and drug cases after three cops were caught on camera planting evidence.
  • Some pretty cool science will be conducted during the coming total eclipse.
  • We know exercise can lessen inflammation. Here’s how, in case you’ve wondered.
  • F*c*b**k showed some sense for a change and shut down an AI project that was developing its own language. (The system was programmed to use English. The new language was Englishy, but with a unique grammar. Wonder how long it would have take for Skynet’s communications to have become unintelligible to us?) (H/T MJR)
  • In Seattle, apparently, if you are being paid for sex, it cannot possibly be consensual. Srsly. Now, think about how that rule would apply to all other human activities.
  • Genius street art.

I don’t suffer from cognitive privilege, I enjoy every minute of it.

So if you pay for sex, that’s rape. I see. So…

If I pay for a box of toothpicks in a store, that’s theft?

And that”controversial theory” of life just sounds like a rephrasing of the Anthropic principle, which has been around for at 56 years.

Remember when the Ford Probe was supposedly a “vehicle of choice” for drug runners, due to the ease of creating hidden compartments?

@Bear: Seems it must be coupled to “leisure”. Besides which, I assume you pick your own teeth, and not someone else’s. However, if picking your teeth is a leisure activity, then you should be wary of visiting a hygienist.

Jed, a better example: Paying for sex is rape. Paying for web site admin is… slavery?

*Cognitive privilege – the next step in evolution? Apparently so.

*Can’t close the deal? Give that reporter a Tootsie Pop for a very creative but totally bogus hatchet piece.

*Life as a result of thermodynamics may never be proven. Right now it seems its only a theory of the mechanics of chemical reactions. Kind of like the ‘Bi-cameral mind’ being responsible God – remember that theory?

*I’m going out tomorrow to buy a Ford Doober, right off the train. Heck with paying Ford….

    * Baltimore. Quelle suprise! Too bad they published how these guys got caught – there goes any future citizen protection from cameras anywhere.

*The heck with science. I just wanna get under the ‘full dark’ zone. My next chance won’t be for another 250 years or so!

*I’m happy to read about exercise and inflammation. It might help motivate me to work thru all the injuries’ pain and stiffness. Thanks for posting this one, Claire.

*I’m willing to bet F*c*B**k won’t keep it shut down. They didn’t mention destroying the system. Shut down may only mean ‘put to a nap’. Most likely they’re shopping it to government somewhere. To…(Queue Church Lady!) …Russia maybe?

    * Seattle “Officers from the King County Sheriff’s Office and the Bellevue Police Department made months’ worth of undercover visits to them before raiding the K-Girl “brothels” in January.” I wonder how their wives, children and lovers feel about them forcing these women into sex with public tax dollars. Looks like a pretty fine ‘blue line’ again, maybe dotted this time. Maybe a broken line. How did they know these women were hooking if they didn’t partake? Or entice the women with money? Since when is it OK for a cop to be a human trafficker as the prosecutor alleges?

    * The Street art is very imaginative. I wish I thought of stuff like that, but I’m not ‘cognitively privileged’ in an artistic way! (Ba-da-dumpf! See what I did there? HA!)

I realized years ago (I think I was on ‘shrooms) that life exists to consume energy and it evolves to consume greater and greater amounts of energy.

So, you’re saying Rosie O’Donnell is more highly evolved than, for example, Cameron Diaz? Wow, dude, that’s heavy….

Just learned about eleutherophobia today. Seems to be something that’s in the water in Washington D.C. and L.A.

On that salesman article; if this is what winning is like I sure don’t want to find out what losing is like.
