- Two women and their dogs are rescued after five months adrift at sea. They were smart about at least one thing.
- Be of good cheer. Even the “obvious” bump stock ban is having trouble making it through Congress.
- Congratulations to Jim Bovard. He’s finally made the grade of having one of his posts censored by F*c*b**k for casting the fedgov in too negative a light.
- Elizabeth Warren lies like a rug (again) when she joins the #MeToo crowd. But OTOH, she’s still the rare lefty who approves of free speech.
- Axe — beloved of zillions of teen boys for commercials showing guys just like them pursued by billions of hot babes, gives it up and goes for the moral equivalent of Pajama Boy.
- “Everybody” favors cannabis legalization. Except politicians.
- I’m about 3/4 Celtic and I agree with this: Hey, you non-Celtic SJWs, stop appropriating OUR cultural holiday of Halloween!
- For heaven’s sake, just release ALL the JFK assassination documents.
- Men get pregnant, too. Or so the British government appears to believe.
- Why isn’t this robot wearing a burkha as she trolls Elon Musk?
- Maybe you shouldn’t be true to yourself after all.
- Twenty-six tweets about dogs. Not all are that good, but the ones that are good are great.
Have you listened to the Celtic holocaust episode of Dan Carlin’s Hardcore History podcast? The intro he gives up on trying to define who was Celtic, that if you say you’re Celtic, you’re Celtic. A good listen!
Axe — beloved of zillions of teen boys for commercials showing guys just like them pursued by billions of hot babes, gives it up and goes for the moral equivalent of Pajama Boy.
I’ve seen that commercial and your characterization, Claire, of it being the moral equivalent of Pajama Boy is spot on!
Both of my sons used Axe when they were in their teens. I saw it as the equivalent of my generation using Hai Karate when we were teens to attract the “chicks”. 🙂
My boys also used Axe. Those advertisements worked.
The “lost at sea” story is incredible.
If they couldn’t navigate, how were they going to reach Tahiti even with the engine? Did they expect to find gas stations and road signs in the middle of the Pacific? I won’t say any more.
I stopped trying to be “true to myself” a long time ago. “Don’t lie to yourself (or God)” was a hard enough skill to master. That led to “shoulder your responsibilities.” Which is a lifetime job.
Hmmmm. Apparently Zuckerberg wants to be the arbiter of official ‘truth’ about world events and government. If I had an account I’d try to post something about the Nazi Holocaust with pictures of the stacked up, starvation-wasted bodies of victims, just to see if Zuckerberg would let his company become a ‘Holocaust denier’ via deletions.
Of course, Twitter (as if I do that) would likely delete my complaints about Fb too, or hand over all my metadata to the FBI, so getting the story out might be difficult.
AI scares me very badly. VERY badly. IMO it’s another case of something being developed ‘because we can’ with no thought of the principle behind the Darwin Awards.
I wonder if or how they would respond to an EMP event? It might someday be necessary to EMP the world back to 1700’s technologies just to save ourselves – warts and all. I’ve also bought some ‘copper solid’ shotgun slugs in hopes that they would do more damage and even short out the electronics that comprise the neural systems.
I’m honestly wondering just what in the world people expect to learn from the Kennedy things. Would any of it be a real surprise? Aren’t most of those people dead now anyway? Why does it matter after all this time? It’s not as if revealing any of it will change things, or make the government honest afterwards.
That “adrift” story is really weird. They lost their engine–but it’s a sailboat. The actual article confirms that weren’t adrift, they were lost. But how does someone manage to be lost for five months? Even if they went to sea without any idea how to navigate, they could have just sailed west and hit land in a couple weeks. Unless maybe they also had no idea how to sail their sailboat.
What scares me about Sopha is when she says her AI is designed around human values.
Speaking about human values, what saddens me about the SJWs is how negative they are. If my granddaughter dresses up like Moana, it must be because she reviles Polynesians, not because she thinks Moana is the coolest princess ever! SJWs are people whose glasses aren’t just half-empty. Their glasses are bone dry, so they think they have to p*ss in them.

Our local Democratic candidates are saying national gun control is stalled because the NRA has bought Congress. No mention that Bloomberg, all by himself, is outspending the NRA several times over.
Unless maybe they also had no idea how to sail their sailboat.
Or they were still trying to find Tahiti, instead of “anyplace that isn’t water.”
The AI link is definitely spooky. Perfect for Halloween.
They may release all the JFK assassination documents after everyone who was alive at the time is dead. Maybe.
The sailboat story does seem odd. The boat was deemed unseaworthy, so I guess it’s possible the boat couldn’t be sailed, though that seems unlikely. The important thing for me is that the dogs were O.K.
The last time I stopped being true to myself, I was Napoleon.
Sea story….not buying it.
I am a Bovard fan (have my own copies of a couple of his books), but he puts on his pants one leg at a time, too.
“…the 1972 photo of a young Vietnamese girl running naked after a U.S. plane dropped napalm on her village.”
It wasn’t a US plane, although the anti-war left pushed thst narrative so well that 45 years later, even someone like Bovard is convinced that US forces casually committed war crimes.

The present “opiod crisis” is manufactured hysteria by the Drug Industrial Complex (cops, courts, probation offices, prison operators) who can read those cannabis surveys, too. Without the steady flow of bodies convicted of marijuana offences, that whole industry will shrink drastically, to the financial detriment of those people.
Heaven forbid errant subject states legalizing weeds be allowed to suck half the life out of the war on some drugs! The eternal battle for all the children of earth must not be allowed to wane.
