Okay, now that you’ve survived Thanksgiving …

You’ve made it alllll the way to Black Friday. Which, despite much over-hype, is actually the best day of the year to buy a television. And is generally the best day of the year to buy one of Amazon’s electronic devices.

In fact, Amazon is full of Black Friday Week deals you can buy via my links. And no doubt there’ll be more on Cyber Monday.

If you’re interested in a nifty gift from a nationally respected company owned by freedomistas (NFI to me, but that’s fine), Hi Mountain Seasonings has supplies for creating your own homemade jerky, including a Thanksgiving weekend special on a just-for-jerky cutting board (with carbon-steel knife and free seasonings thrown in).

Oliver Del Signore also asks me to tell you that Hardyville Tales is now available in a Kindle edition. Oliver’s Mason Marshall Press even has a F*c*b**k page for that and the RebelFire Kindle ed. Heh. Took him less than a month to get them both Kindleized after I’d been putting it off who knows how long.

You can still get autographed hardbacks of both books on Amazon or directly from Mason Marshall. (Hint: Mason Marshall is selling them for less than I am, and with free shipping to boot.)

But enough of this peddling of material goods!

If you’re still feeling stuffed after Turkey Day and want an excuse for 3:43 minutes more idleness, OkGo just released another of its weirdly wonderful and technically amazing videos.

OTOH, if you’re just itching to put up your Christmas decorations already: go ahead, it’s good for you.

But be sure to keep them safe from your pets. ๐Ÿ™‚

My daughter moved in with me this past Wednesday and she told me that she wants to put the Christmas tree up and decorate for the Holidays. I didn’t do it last year as the Christmas Spirit eluded me, but it looks like we’re do it this year, a new beginning!

For something truly useful, NordVPN is offering their VPN service this weekend for roughly 77% off for a 3 year deal ($99 for 3 years = $2.75 per month).

We have a Thanksgiving tree. Since becoming a mom, our youngest daughter has discovered her crafty gene.

She put up a brown crumpled-paper “trunk” on a wall. Then she had her kindergarten twins use their new writing skills to write something they are thankful for on each of several dozen fall-colored leaves.

    Crafty is a superpower.

Thanks, DistOne. Although I’m not familiar with NordVPN, that’s a great price and a VPN is a good thing to have.

    “Crafty is a superpower.”

๐Ÿ™‚ These days, kindergarteners being able to write that well is also a superpower.

I got Hardyville Tales in the mail about a week ago, and I am almost done reading it. I got 3 copies. Thank you, Claire and John. Since I only have two eyes, and they track together quite well thanks to the great work done by my abducens nucleus in my pons, now I need to figure out which two friends to give the other two copies to. I came across the Hardyville columns years ago, and loved them, and that was what first got me reading your writing. I thought this book would be a collection of those columns, but I do not remember these stories, just the same characters in different adventures.

Dr. Jim — Glad you got it and hope you’re enjoying it. The book is a collection of columns. It’s just the later, BHM story/serial columns and not the original stand-alones. It was more fun but much harder to write the continuing adventures.
