Over at Claire’s Cabal we went to a (mostly) free-membership model in mid-2017.
Now, all initial memberships are six-months. If the new Cabalistas are active posters and assets to the community, I convert them to full members. If they just lurk or post a few times then leave, their membership lapses.
The first of those six-month provisional memberships end later this month.
As of today, when I finally got around to setting up that system, lurkers who’d like to continue lurking can extend their memberships for a small fee.
Still, if you’re a Cabal lurker, I hope you’ll get in there and charm the heck out of your fellow Cabalistas. Or share/inform/appreciate/learn from them. Then everybody wins and nobody has to pay.

Have never been there. Do they have to be intelligent posts? Can they be recipes? Instructions for infernal devices? Rejected short stories? Autobiographical ramblings?
Intelligent is good. Usually. But some Cabalistas are big on silliness. 🙂 Someone started a recipes thread, which hasn’t quite taken off yet and could use a boost.
Basically … all of the above. Plus posts on privacy, intel, beer brewing, philosophy, preparedness, computer security, firearms & training, political rants, precious metals, cryptocurrencies, economics, health, and much etc.
No infernal devices (too dangerous these days), but perhaps thoughts that TPTB might consider infernal.
Good riposte!
Will take a look. Afraid I’m too medically hassled, old, and well, cowardly, to do more than talk or picket on voting day.😕 furthering freedom, except my own mental freedom, is just not in the cards.
