WOW!
My yesterday was wonderful.I made smoked cheeses, vacuum packed em,made a couple smoked tri-tips I got for 3.99/pound,sliced and vacuum packed most of that/into freezer.
Next my nephew/wife/baby visited.Kid is so smart I was gob-smacked.Awesome visit, sent them home with smoked cheese.
Today Im enjoying a cool quiet morning, enjoying a slow cup of coffee, watching the muttsters snooze.Later I will waterbath can my home-made sauerkraut, and keep 2 living quarts of awesome probiotic kraut in the refer, should last most of year, then do my canned stuff.I figure it cost 2.75 cents to do 8 quarts fermented kraut, gotta love that.
Life is good. 🙂
Though I once had a car crash into my garage, only a tree kept it from taking out the front of my house, guess BTDT,eh?
Yes it could always be worse… I wasn’t too surprised when I listen to the meat puppet on last night’s news say “Alcohol may have been a factor in this car crash.”
Looking at the airliner incident, I bet there were a few passengers who wished they were wearing Depends. With the way the aircraft left the runway at right angles I suspect it may have been a brake issue with the starboard main gear braking system locking up when the pilot was braking after landing. It will be interesting to see what the investigators come up with. All I know is the techs who last signed off on this aircraft are probably shaking in their boots right now. Once the aircraft is examined and if a system failure is determined, the maintenance logs will be looked at next and whoever did the work…
Years ago I was driving south on the I-5 freeway in southern California. Just a few car lengths ahead of me was a big flatbed truck loaded with 55 gal. metal barrels. Suddenly, a strap failed/broke and the obviously empty barrels were literally launched into the air, then struck the pavement as cars swerved madly to get out of the way. Luckily, I was in the “fast lane” and all the barrels were going to the right, so I was OK. By some miracle, there were only a few minor crashes between cars and I don’t remember that any of the barrels actually hit any of them, but I sincerely wished I’d been wearing Depends that morning.

“Oops.”
I would really hate to have been a flight attendant on the next plane in line, circling overhead.

Yikes about both incidences!
In a statement, Pegasus Airlines explained the plane “had a runway excursion incident”…..
Don’t you just love this new language they invent to describe what happened.
Less of a media lightning rod event than, “had a ohhh sh***t incident” though.
Think how often this would happen if we had Jetson’s type cars..
