Thank you, Mama Liberty. You really nailed the purpose of the book.
UPDATE: First reviewS, actually. We also just got our first Amazon write-up — and it’s five stars! Thank you, Dave. The viewpoint of his review is quite different than ML’s, but he also not only writes a great review, but understands the book with wonderful clarity, just as she did.
Thank you both.

I’m so glad you like it, Claire. π I can’t remember now if I ever did an Amazon review of any of your other books. I’ll go back through the list there and see. Gosh, I’ll have to re-read them to make a comment. π It’s been too long since I did that anyway.
It was great, ML. If you want to put all or part of your review of Basics of Resistance on Amazon, that would be wonderful.
Don’t worry about reviewing any old books, though, unless you want to “do” Hardyville Tales and RebelFire. Those are the only two on Amazon that are current editions and belong to me (me and Mason Marshall Press, that is). Later this year I’m hoping to have an all-new third edition of The Freedom Outlaws Handbook, and THAT I’d love to have you review.
The others are just used books being sold through Marketplace sellers. It’s nice if people like them, but new reviews aren’t needed.
Cool, but I’m surprised anybody got hands on it so quickly. I know I’m on the far end of the curve but I don’t expect to see mine for weeks.
Two words, Joel: Review copies.
Three more words: Really fast readers.
We’re just beginning to send out review copies now, but seriously two people got on the job faster than I could ever imagined.
If anybody else has a well-read blog, a gig writing for a political magazine, connections to a great libertarian site — or anything else that might lead to a review that gets noticed, please let me know.
Oh, that sounds snobbish. I’m sorry. But we do have to limit review copies to sites and people in a position to get the word Really Out There.
Kudos Claire! As of 17:30 hours, 4/5/18, the Kindle edition of Resistance was back to #1 in Civil Rights & Liberties and the paperback was #13. Looks like a lot of people are going to be getting an education.
Thank you, DistOne, and how cool that you’re keeping an eye on the progress.
I think the paperback was as high as #2 at one point, but its stats have fluctuated much more than the Kindle version. I believe between the two we may have sold (or gotten pre-orders for) over 1,000 copies now — mostly Kindle, of course; can’t beat that $0.99 price.
That’ll slow considerably. But still. I’m happy. Kit’s happy. I hope readers are happy.
Just got an e-mail from Amazon saying the book has shipped. Arriving Fri. Happy Happy!
Itβs here!
One each dead tree copy,
For print on demand itβs very well constructed. Nice stiff cover that comes with the fold points along the binding. All the pages are lined up very well and the type set and size, and the nice non glare paper should make for easy reading. Now I just have to fine time to read it this weekend.
Thank you, Bill T. Not only are you the first buyer to report seeing it, but you’re seeing it before I have.
In theory, Kit and I were both supposed to check proof copies before launching sales. But because she’d submitted a well-vetted .pdf, we held our breath and skipped that stage. Well, we didn’t skip it; Kit ordered proof copies, but mine hasn’t reached me yet. I’m expecting to see both my proof and the “real” copies for the meme contest winners next week.
But you’re the first to confirm that all is well. I’m so relieved. π
Claire
Not to worry. I think it is very well done. And I buy a lot of books.
I second that, and I usually buy paperbacks.
