As ye sow, Dick’s Sporting Goods, so shall ye reap. Mossberg becomes the second major firearms manufacturer (after Springfield) to refuse to sell to the overtly anti-gun “sporting goods” chain.

Good. The company I work for still sells AR’s, but the new owners won’t let us put them in our weekly fliers.
Another one joins, and a question about whether “restraint of trade” problems may arise:

But Ruger, as usual, is wishy-washy.

Soon the children will ask; Dick’s, who’s they?
Okay, I wrote another comment but then actually read Claire’s link, happily before the comment timed out. That doesn’t sound so much like the Ruger board pissing on the shoes of its customer base, which it has certainly done in the past, but rather dealing with a nuisance proposal passed by some activist shareholders. Really not the same thing.
Laughed out loud when I saw the ZH headline “Mossberg latest gun company to cut off Dick’s”
I admit I was terrrrribly tempted to use a headline something like that. Being a proper lady, I refrained.
You’re right, Joel.
Ruger says:

It’s sad that it’s so easy to be suspicious of Ruger’s integrity on gun-rights issues. They’ve shown so little integrity over the decades. But I agree they’re not at fault here. Maybe this business will even give them a clue about how important it is to be hardcore on the Second Amendment.
I think Dick’s Sporting Goods is going to find out, the hard way, that p*ssing off a lot of the people who do buy their goods, to please people who would never step foot in their stores, is a “dick” move. I do feel sorry for the ordinary store personnel who’re going to suffer from this, but I have no sympathy for the suits who thought they could do some cheap virtue signaling.
