Oh my. It seems one case of official anal probing just wasn’t enough. Another man is now suing over the same offense.
But of course, both committed heinous crimes that brought them to the attention of police. One failed to stop fully at a stop sign coming out of a parking lot. The other may have neglected to signal for a turn.
Villains! Evil-doers! They’re lucky they weren’t both summarily shot or tasered to death.

Two? Well, three, that are in the news at the moment. Though this one is in Texas.
I doubt these are isolated incidents.
A colonoscopy (under anesthesia yet!) is a medical diagnostic procedure, and has nothing to do with legal investigative work. No police or judge have medical authority, especially inside a medical facility. Further, the personnel were working for the hospital, not the police department; that hospital, its doctors and other personnel extended their own authority *beyond their license,* by agreeing to become a part of the legal team.
I have complied with some police requests, but I’ve also refused some police actions with the full backing of the hospital in which I worked. The assumption that medical personnel within the confines of a medical facility must obey a legal document against their own medical policies is totally false, if the situation does not relate to a medical problem.
The legal system should carry its own medical personnel on its payroll if it wants to abuse its suspects’ rights. It has no authority to force compliance on an ordinary medical facility.
I am dismayed but not shocked by the behavior of the police. They are psychopaths and that’s what they do. What really disturbs me is that there were any medical personnel who cooperated. Every doctor, nurse and technician who participated should be summarily fired and stripped of all medical credentials. The threats from the hospital administrators to the victims for not paying for their torture are obscene and I hope a lawsuit shows them just how wrong they are. Every day I am reminded of how morally and ethically bankrupt America has become, but don’t forget to thank a veteran for their service protecting your freedom.
“It has no authority to force compliance on an ordinary medical facility.”
Since when has anyone needed to be ‘forced’ to go along with the gestapo? People are typically intimidated enough and fearful enough for their own personal safety and the well being of their families to shut up and go along with absolutely anything the police say.
Part of the problem is that far too many people in all walks of life truly believe the lie that “the police” actually do have some legitimate “authority” to do whatever they wish, or whatever is written on a piece of paper and signed by “a judge.” Too many also actually believe that all bets are off, all rights are forfeit if there is any question the victim of police abuse used or sold “drugs” or anything else not officially approved.
Usually until it happens to THEM… but we can hope that more and more people are seeing past this lie as the abuses become ever more outrageous. Shooting innocent dogs and relatives, for instance.
Speaking of shooting relatives, here’s the audio: http://www.infowars.com/police-kill-19-year-old-after-father-prevents-him-from-buying-cigarettes/

Claire,
Check out Masaad Ayoob’s blog and firestorm response he is getting for his defense of the cops in this case. Guess he forgot the 2nd amendment loving readers here also libertarian leaning freedomnistas who are suspicious the government and the police state. Too bad you and he do not post to each other blogs. Now that would be entertainment.
What I don’t understand is why people put up with this crap. It no longer makes sense to tolerate arrest for any reason.
I guess they still believe the government religion, thinking they can use a lawsuit in the same system that violated them, to make them whole again.
“Find out just what the people will submit to and you have found out the exact amount of injustice and wrong which will be imposed upon them; and these will continue until they are resisted with either words or blows, or with both. The limits of tyrants are prescribed by the endurance of those whom they oppress.”
— Frederick Douglass, Aug. 4, 1857
I have to be careful commenting on things of this nature- I might say something such as “every cop who tries to do this needs to have his worthless head blown off by a passerby with morals”. Or something like that.
These cops are rapists. The medical “professionals” who assisted in this rape need to be fired and face the consequences of committing rapes along with the rapist cops. The dog needs to be taken away from the police. No one associated with these incidents (on the aggressor side) should ever be trusted as anything other than a rapist ever again- unless they prove they have changed with their actions for a few decades.
Maybe Deming New Mexico trucks stops need to sell Tshirts that say,
“I was raped by the Deming Police and all I got was this lousty T-Shirt (and the bill).”
