- Just what we need: a drone that hijacks other drones. (H/T MJR)
- “I love my guns.” MamaLiberty explains.
- This creepy-wierd logo was all over the Internet last week. I ignored it, figuring it was just some joker’s parody of government spies. But nooooooo. It’s what actual government spies think of themselves … and us.
- The German’s don’t have a word for it. Yet. But when they do, it’ll be Schottenfreude. 🙂
- Long but good. Ryan Lizza of The New Yorker finally addresses the Big Question: Why the fedgov won’t rein in their spy agencies.
- And of course … dogs to make it all tolerable. (H/T MLS)

I think a drone that hijacks other drones if probably just what we need. What better way to keep snoopy drones out or our neighborhoods than to hack them and have them fly somewhere else or just land and power down. I would not be suprised if similar technology has been used by Iran to capture a drone or two the past couple of years.
ML sums up gun ownership succintly and beautifully.
The logo make me want to chant: Cthulhu Fhtagn
Re: the Logo.
They’re starting to admit they’re the Leviathan.
The octopus logo looks like something from a comic book or an Adult Swim video. That it is a real, actual gov-approved logo sure doesn’t make it seem any less retarded looking. I hope they keep using it for that very reason.
Thanks, Matt. I’m very proud of that one. 🙂
I too approve of the hijack drone. In a similar vein, several months ago Indiegogo had a crowdfunding project for the development of an inexpensive device which would alert you to the presence of drones. See http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/droneshield. I believe that beta testing is now finished and they should be ready for shipment soon. Can’t wait to receive mine!
There is nothing new or unusual about cartoonish mission patches for various government agencies or missions, complete with power-tripping hubris. Check this one out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Waterwalker.jpg
Well, I was not too interested in reading that full 13-page article about spying. I think I already know why they do it. They want to control people, and part of controlling people is knowing what people do. And, they face NO disincentive, legal or otherwise, to keep doing it. And nothing short of a revolution is going to change that, folks.
In the meantime I am in the middle of replacing my NSA-friendly router with pfsense. Hey, it is better than whining to my congresscritters, even if one of them is Wyden. I’ll let you know how it goes…
Laird — My apologies! All three of your latest comments went into the spam filter and I wasn’t home to fetch them out of there. Fixed now, but rather belatedly!
Your posting makes me realize that logos really are representative of attitudes, and that one really is scary. In the military, especially in wartime, they are supposed to be so, but in peacetime and directed at civilians it’s an entirely different story.
Claire, no problem, but thanks. I thought the problem was on my end. (And they really were only intended to be 1 post, so you can delete one if you’d like.)
