Um … it’s a political cartoon, Jim B. It exaggerates.
Point is the same, though. “Gun-free zones” — aren’t. They’re just self-defense free zones.

What about the cities? This ain’t Illinois…to my knowledge, a Texas concealed permit is good in the smallest town, the biggest one, plus all those in between! The many military bases we have here, though, operate on a totally different set of rules.

Perception. Probably not reality. Everywhere I look I see “no guns” signs. Unless those signs are all being ignored.

In Texas, cities may not enact their own versions of gun law. The state lege sets the rules. We are hamstrung in many venues by either statutory or property owner criminal safety zones.
And the lege seems unwilling to address elimination of those criminal safety zones or constitutional carry.
We’re better than some states but far from ideal.

On another note, how about a Baby accused of murder?
Admittedly, for a moment I thought someone in the U.S. actually was accusing a baby with a murder. I guess this shows that the U.S. is not alone with this kind of craziness.

In Texas?
We have three legal signs for CHLs:
1. 51% sign, with red “51%” and “licensed or unlicensed possession of a weapon” prohibited. They are for bars.
2. Unlicensed possession signs, with “unlicensed possession of a weapon” prohibited. They are on premises licensed for alcohol where CHLs can carry, but others can’t.
3. 30.06 sign, the large sign which prohibits concealed carry on privately-owned (not owned or leased by state or lower government) property.
Most Texas signs I see are the second one, which doesn’t prohibit concealed carry.
The “gun-slash” signs are not effective for licensed carry in Texas.
As stated, federal locations, including military bases, post offices, Social Security offices, VA facilities, etc. aren’t in Texas. It would be nice if we could get reciprocity there.
There are about a dozen Texas federal military bases.

I see both “Unlicensed possession signs” and “30.06 signs” (this is a dry county so we wouldn’t have the “51% signs”). The 30.06 signs I have seen don’t seem to be “legal”, but it’s still a “no guns” sign.
Thanks for this. loved it.
