  • The newest, most shocking, and “scientifically proven” danger from legal cannabis! Stoned bunny rabbits! Srsly. Not from The Onion. (H/T JW)
  • “The Envy of Frank Underwood.” Is Netflix the prime mover (and prime beneficiary) behind federal control of the Internet?
  • Ever call your credit card company’s customer service line? They might have secretly voice fingerprinted you. If it’s such a great idea to prevent fraud, why aren’t they being upfront about it?
  • Seems all that shrill weirdness coming from the hoplophobe ranks recently isn’t just a side-effect of “gun control.” Even some of the most major distracting drivel is apparently directly planned and paid for by Bloomberg. This is sophisticated psychological warfare in the guise of unsophisticated jibberish.
  • Ilana Mercer on Hillary and her village idiots. ADDED: Tom Knapp has a different view on Hillary’s “emailgate.”
  • Hm. I knew it existed but I never knew there was an “official” science governing it. This is even cooler than the “science” governing stoned bunnies — although come to think of it, this probably also applies to stoned bunnies. Not to mention wily coyotes.

Wonder if they’ll compare the “stoned” rabbits in Colorado, Washington state, and other places where the stuff grows. Or is it only Utah rabbits? Seems to me such bunnies would be nice and tender….

Cartoon physics… is that like politician ethics?

“Official” science also includes “It’s true if I believe it.” Ex: Global Warming.

I hope the credit card and other companies appreciate my reaction to “Press 1 – 2- 3, etc. Trying to get a real person to answer brings on a lot of cursing — but couldn’t say what kind of “voice fingerprinting” results from it.

Tom is right that Clinton’s email service shouldbe a big deal, But Ilana’s right that it won’t be. Even though it appears to be worse than it’s being reported even by Faux Snooze.

The reports that the email server is/was in her home appear to be wrong. Her web domain is parked offshore in the British Virgin Islands, and her MX entry backtracks to a mail server in North Carolina (I suspect the “home” IP the AP traced is the home client sending to the SMTP server). This is not a minor nitpick; it means that her emails were actually stored (temporarily, if she used POP and deleted; permanently if she used IMAP) on a third party server out of her control, with unknown security, and with outsiders potentially having authorized access to any archive.

Not counting the mystery foundation staffer(s) who allegedly sorted through her email to pick out the “official business” ones for release to the .gov.

All this lacks is learning that she used a Lenovo computer with the rooted certificate doing MITM attacks. [grin]

Why don’t we just ask the NSA for copies of all Hillary’s emails? I’m sure they’re stored somewhere.

According to Reason Netflix may already have buyer’s remorse.

“Were we pleased it pushed to Title II? Probably not. We were hoping there might be a non-regulated solution.” The company still insists that it is pleased with the ruling overall, but wishes that there had been no broadband regulation.

    Dear David,
If you want a non-regulated solution, the FCC is exactly the wrong place to look.

Stoned bunnies? Yeah, now there is a convincing argument. With all the guffaws, I bet special agent Matt Fairbanks is wishing he hadn’t brought his bunny encounter up in that hearing. Score 1 for the pro-liberty faction…

Netflix – one wonders what kickbacks the FCC commissioners and other players in DC got from Netflix for this ploy. More ruling class games. It will be interesting to see if a network originally designed for survival of a large-scale nuclear attack can find its way around fascist maneuvering and thuggery. If I had money for gambling I’d put it on the network and the tech gang.

Voiceprints – no surprises there. One might as well assume that any conversation on a phone is being recorded (anyway a significant fraction of phone conversations are now delivered via Internet, and we know what NSA does with that). Just as regular email being like sending a post card in the mail, so is a phone conversation. Take note, and move on…

Bloomberg provocateurs – good link, we should pass this on everywhere. Herschel did a good job exposing this tactic.

I liked that article by Ilana, not the least because I learned a useful new word, “teletart”. 🙂 I have to admit I just don’t get the fuss over Benghazi. Isn’t the embassy (or consulate, or whatever it was) just an outpost of Empire? Why would we care about what happens to those in it?

Cartoon physics… and then there is boob physics…

Those drug warriors can see the handwriting on the wall. They just arent needed and are fighting for their jobs.

I love it. Great to see what happens when prohibition is being repealed.

There’s the one about the scientists who set out to prove that a primary function of female breasts is to make men stupid. After observing women’s breasts for a year they discovered that no one had remembered to take notes.

Back in the day, during finals week at my alma mater, the just-off-campus theater ran a matinee of one hour of Roadrunner cartoons. Brain-cleaning.

Might be almost as good as knitting a dragon.
