- Eeeew! Just when you think tech can’t get any creepier. And this isn’t govtech or secretive corptech; it’s meant to be you-and-me tech. (Via MJR and Wired.)
- Tom Knapp on why America’s not ready for Hillary. And no, it’s not because she’s a walking scandal machine. Or because of her corrupt and otherwise undistinguished career in “public service.” Or her utter phoniness. Or even the fact that she’s a less pleasant person than Dolores Umbridge.
- Revolt of the raisin growers. (Incredible that a program this socialistic and this outrageous has been tolerated so long.)
- Some background on the Sugar Pine Mine confrontation.
- Obamacare causes the IRS to hang up on harried taxpayers.
- Beware and being aware in the government-owned woods. (H/T L.A.)
- The FBI fakes a whole field of forensics for the benefit of prosecutors. And not for the first time.
- A little good news: red-light cameras are going the way of buggy whips and corsets.
- Finally, for your amusement: things I trust more than Hillary Clinton. Other good stuff at that link, too.

You might be interested in a Bill that would effectively ban dog ownership in Texas. Only a mentally unbalanced dog hater could propose legislation this ludicrous.

It’s amazing that raisin program, a hangover from FDR’s fascist experimentation, is still with us. Finally someone had enough balls to say no to the government. Horne ought to market them under his own name, something like “Horne’s Outlaw Raisins”. He could make a bundle.
I think Tom Knapp is wrong. America is definitely ready for Hillary. Good way to kick off a revolution…
“For all the unanswered questions that remain, the released documents do show that the BLM coordinated with local law enforcement for heightened security at their offices.”
Hmmm, local cops working for the feds. I guess there are a lot of cops who aren’t oath keepers…
“The problem of general crime on public recreational wildlands is compounded by organized crime marijuana grows.”
Uh, it’s a bit hard to have any empathy for the game wardens over this one. Decriminalize marijuana and the problem goes away. But government is not about making problems go away, after all. That would put them out of business.
It’s a shame those red light cameras are being decommissioned because the rulers find they don’t work, rather than because they are shot full of holes. What’s wrong with us? 🙂

Speaking of revolution:

There are certainly dangers in the woods, but to me the interesting part is:
Please note: That’s not meant as a solution for Claire’s house problems!
12bitphoto — Thanks. I read the text of the bill (http://www.legis.state.tx.us/BillLookup/Text.aspx?LegSess=84R&Bill=HB1800) and you’re right; it’s pretty awful. Insanely too broad and full of language allowing damn near any dog to be decreed dangerous on purely subjective grounds. (Oh, how that’ll be used by scaredy-thug cops!) Ugh.
I see that there was supposed to have been a hearing on the bill on 4/21, but see no news reports on that.
On the 21st, the bill was “left pending in committee.” http://www.legis.state.tx.us/BillLookup/Actions.aspx?LegSess=84R&Bill=HB1800
I wonder if those refuseniks in New York are aware of John Taylor Gatto’s Bartleby Project?
http://www.bartlebyproject.com/
I looked at their web page and find it strange Bartleby is not mentioned anywhere, particularly since Gatto spent his entire teaching career in New York and is one of the most prominent critics of government “education”.
The Texas Legislature ends in 37 days* so a House bill “left pending in committee” and with no companion bill in the Senate is pretty much toast. The author, Rep. Armando Walle, is one of the “interesting” representatives Houston seems to produce.
* The Texas Legislature meets for 140 days, starting in January of odd-numbered years. It’s an interesting system. Right now I’m tracking 122 RKBA bills.

LarryA — Thanks! Figures you’d know about that. I expect the committee members got some scathing comments on that anti-dog bill. Now, good luck with those (yikes!) 122 RKBA bills.
Thanks for the responses. I looked Armando Walle up and found an article that claims he is a dog owner. So he may just be an idiot and not a dog hater. It’s no surprise that someone proposing idiotic intrusive open-ended legislation is a Houston Democrat.
