Sorry for missing my usual Friday a.m. post. I’ve been sick all week. Nothing serious, but it has reached the point of brain death.
Temporary brain death, I assure you. I’ll be back sometime over the weekend with (I hope) a renewed brain and a couple posts worth waiting for.

Hope you are feeling better soon. We miss your words of wisdom and wit.
Darn! If I can be of any help, just shoot me an email. Hope you’ll feel better soon.
You weren’t eating knotweed, I hope.
Get well soon.
I’ve been feeling ill also, but the virus is my 1040.
The golden lining is that income from my shooting classes tripled last year.
Get well.
Got some shower related items through amazon. Hope that kickback makes you feel better. 😉
I was sick Thursday of last week through Tuesday of this. No brain. No energy. Post nasal drip. No pain, but felt horrid. Coughing a little now, but energy and brain have returned. Still a little sleep-deprived. But that’s a longer story. My daughter has that one much harder than I. “Word salad” said the hospital nurse. Sigh…
Sorry to hear that. Selfishly, I want to you get better so I can enjoy more of your writing.
FishOrMan — That was you? Yep, you sure made my day! Biggest day by far this month, and a very big day for any month, thank you. I assumed those purchases were by someone else who’s been doing a very nice job (judging by the items bought) and keeping my Amazon account going fixing up a house. Nice to know you’re in there buying gorgeous bathroom items, too.
LOL, no, I wasn’t poisoned by knotweed, Shel. But thanks for the good wishes, one and all.
To everybody else who had this or anything like it, my commisserations. Yep, “just a cold,” but after seven days I’m only now beginning to think about feeling human again. I tried killing it with zinc and for the first two days that looked as if it was going to help (as it has in the past). But this time, on the third day the damn disease rose up and overrode anything and everything I tried to do to it. Nothing helped. No meds, no rest, no nothing. Nastiest cold I’ve had since high school. Ugh.
But I’m back now. Stay well, you hear?
A bit late for this advice, but try elderberries next time you start coming down with something. Doesn’t matter if it’s syrup, wine, or Sambucol (elderberry extract in pill form, usually found in the cough drops aisle), the active ingredient withstands a lot of processing.
What it does is interferes with the virus’s ability to infect new cells. If taken daily during cold season, it can prevent an infection. If taken early enough after catching one, it can cut the cold short.
I can vouch for the fact that it’s worked against the flu the last 2 years.
Yeah, going high end, the room, which was a den, has a big beautiful skylight, (curse them when they leak! but otherwise lovely), so we want something that looks great in all that light. And still a better price through Amazon than box stores.
Oh, and even with all that spending, the sales tax was only $15 or so.
