For most Orthodox Christians, Christmas is the beginning of celebrations after 40 days of Lent.
Um. Last time I checked, and when you sing in the choir you check pretty often, Lent is the run-up to Easter, not Christmas. In the Orthodox tradition it’s Great Lent, but still before Easter.

That cob house under the dome is very cool. I would be worried about two things. The first being ventilation in the winter and the second being summer heat.

It would make sense for future terrorists to give themselves up intentionally. They know we won’t summarily kill them, the subsequent prolonged legal process will give much free publicity, and they can be a continual drain on our society even through their time in prison, where they might also become effective recruiters.

As to those future terrorists: Even if they were to take advantage of what remains of the U.S. justice system (which plenty of notoriety-seeking criminals have always done), I’d rather live with that than live in a country where extrajudicial executions by cops and soldiers were the norm.
