I wondered why China was looking to ban bitcoin when so many of their people are profiting from it. I should have guessed that it was because they didn’t want it competing with their own cryptocurrency.
How can anyone be surprise that with the crap that comes out of Hollywood that the people that are creating that crap are crap themselves?

IMHO these governments aren’t really talking about creating cryptocurrencies. What they want to do is pretend they have something of value to “trade” (at the point of a gun) for goods and services that do have real value. It’s like printing dollars without the bother of actually running a printing press.
People control is a side benefit.

Since the entire concept smacks of 80’s pop-psych, ivwould be interested in the origin of the idea of behavioral economics. The idea quoted above makes it sound as if it came from the Frankfurt School of commie thought. As bogus and intellectually valid as all of that is, it nevertheless seems to creep into things that should be immune to such political stupidity.
