Methinks we will get to see today out of all of this who exactly are the summer soldier &/or the sunshine patriot. IMHO ending our gun rights will also be the end of this republic.
Last time the NRA was hurt this bad, association membership went from 3.5 million to 5 million, black rifles flew off the shelves and taught people how much fun they were to shoot, and license-to-carry applications went through the roof. (A trend that is still accelerating.)

In terms of recent medical history, “too much medication” began in the early 80s when TV and print advertising for prescription drugs opened up.

People were beginning to take an interest in their own care, and the advertising of drugs was in line with that interest. Patients asked about specific medication from their doctors, and doctors often gave them those medications that were advertised.
On another level, the fedgov began to bear down on the medical field at the same time, insinuating itself into the drug and insurance fields, and establishing “privacy” and safety regulations that increasingly (and ever since) has harried doctors into time constraints in their offices. It was simpler to comply with the rules and with patients’ demands than to fight the system. (This doesn’t excuse their giving in, but does explain it in part.)
The same is true of technology. Companies manufactured machinery or instigated procedures to help diagnose or “treat” a patient’s condition, and there was no turning back – the machine or process was utilized “because it’s there” and had to pay for itself. (And the price of medicine keeps climbing.)
To get back to proper medical care, medicine will have to take control of its own future. It shouldn’t be micromanaged, though, based on what Bezos, Buffett and Dimon see as wrong. It should be determined by what is the right way to diagnose, treat, and CURE patients, and eliminate disease.

I’ve long thought the “Collective We” lacks basic manners, the ability to deal with stress through external public loud expression is overrated/over suggested and interdependence on others for self-realization is counterproductive.
#mobilemob is more dangerous than an actual rolling mob down the street right now as one cannot get out of the way easily and guilt by association spill over into “real life”.
I remember reading a story (probably in an email) that went:
A man and his dog die. Afterwards, they are walking along and come to golden gates, with a beautiful water fountain and other things. The man asks the gatekeeper if he may come in and have some water. He’s told he certainly can but his dog can’t. Despondent, the man and his dog continue walking and soon come to a run down place with an old gate and a hand pump well. The man asks if they may have a drink of water and is told they certainly may. The man pumps the water from the well and asks where they are; he is told they are in Heaven. Perplexed, the man remarks that he thought the place with the golden gates was Heaven. The response was no, that’s Hell, you are sent there first so we can learn who will leave their friends behind.
