Wonderful “comfort foods” from around the world. I’m going to try some of them. 🙂
On the Backpage takedown notice, I note that any enforcement action the California Attorney General and the Texas Attorney General agree on has got to be truly screwed up. I am less surprised that gun owners, sex workers, and pot stores are being mistreated the same.
Wells Fargo deserves credit. However, I’ll bet they took a look at the challenge, “Last year, Wells Fargo assisted 1,600 AFT families with home financing,” and noted that:
1. Refinancing a home is a difficult and expensive process;
2. There are 1,700,000 teacher union members v 13,200,000 carry license holders;
3. Schools are starting to arm faculty.
Banks are good at doing math.
I have rarely if ever complemented a major bank on ANYTHING but Wells Fargo you rock (if you don’t chicken out later!).
Oh, found this additional link on the bionic limb link that Claire missed;

Good recipes. I used to cook more, and with my little kitchen, easy recipes, especially one-pot, are welcome. Oddly, the only time I’ve had Shepherd’s pie was in restaurant. It’s such a cheap meal. I’ll be saving some of those.
For those collecting recipes, Roberta X blogs a meal here and there, and they all look good. She’s pretty inventive with available ingredients — something I wish I had more experience with.
Uh, thanks for the informative link there, Comrade. 😀 I could add another reason, but decorum is holding me back.

Not so for Bank of America:
Bank of America will stop lending money to makers of assault rifles
Pot shop problems will continue until the Feds rescind the present law.
SFAIK, the only thing the pot shop folks can do is hire their own security.
That kamala is one dangerous bought out hoar.She would be a fine nassi prison guard IMO.she is EVIL.Thats my opinions on her.
When my hospital was in BK she tried to close us down in BK court because the buyer wasnt Union.BK judge told her contarary to what she thought the Calif Attny General has ZERO standing in BK court,she said SHE is in charge of public health decisions.
Kept sending in her union thugs to disrupt the proceedings.Judge got fed up,said do it one more time she was arresting people.It stopped.100’s of jobs would have been lost,and a hospital whose beds were badly needed would have severely hurt the community.One bought and sold monster.

Lawyer-client confidentiality out the window.Why not,electronic health records took our Dr-client privacy away.

We just had a couple pot shot shootings recently here.The first 2 to open on my mtn both owners were murdered by gangs. I met 2 young guys,talking how they used to be pot security guards.Say criminals used to ignore them,now they just kill them.

Trade wars???? We should NEVER had trade with China,all its gotten us are huge deficits,job losses,crap products and made China an economic powerhouse.Stop all China trade is fine by me.We will be better for it long term IMO. It never was free trade,it was one sided trade,big difference.
It seems like China may have blinked – https://www.cnbc.com/2018/04/09/chinese-president-xi-jinping-speaks-at-boao-forum-for-asia.html

These are some bad people even back in the early eighties when I was stationedEast Anglia I was warned not to go near them.
Yes, I saw an article about what the man and his wife are now facing.
I also encountered “travelers” in Ireland. Nobody warned me about them — or needed to. Instant creepiness. Wherever they parked their caravans, even for an hour or two, they were instantly surrounded by trash, as if they carried it with them to strew around on purpose. I had brief interactions with some traveler children and even before I knew who they were, I wanted urgently to get away from them.
It’s a nasty subculture and I can see why even something as seemingly innocuous as putting up memorial displays (again and again) feels threatening to the poor man and his neighbors.
Believe it or not, Irish Travellers and Gypsies (Roma) are different people, although they share the same extreme Us vs Everybody Else culture.
As Heinlein noted, “There are two kind of people: carnies and marks.”
