I see a couple more items to add to my bugout.
Who knew that saving “dustbin lids” would someday make me an armorer ?
I would suggest a shield made of 1/2 inch plywood rather than the cheap metal of a standard trash can lid. [Too many these days are plastic.] The shield doesn’t have to be huge 18″ X 24″ with sturdy handles [made of old leather belts] bolted on the shield will work quite well. Two handles work better than just one btw.
Another “spray” [besides spray paint] that can be used is the wasp and hornet spray that shoots a Looong ways. [Always aim for the eyes, mouth and nose.]
Keep in mind that the shield and the spray [especially the spray] CAN BE considered “weapons”.
So …. the bad guys may just decide to escalate the level of violence.
In that case those running shoes should be rapidly exercised.
Then there is a whole world of different “tools” that need to be brought to bear.
