Hollywood helping Jewish refugees: take a look at the personal backgrounds of the cast of Casablanca.
Yup. Some of the histories of the cast and crew (particularly that of Conrad Veidt, who ironically played the chief Nazi villain) lie anywhere between heartbreaking and inspiring.

The British Army snowflakes story isn’t as strange as it might first appear. The British Army actually has a long, long history of recruiting from the dregs of society–they’re just continuing the tradition. Besides, all the British Army does now is contribute cannon fodder for the Evil Empire. Why would the British want to sacrifice productive members of society for the greater glory of Washington, D.C. when they could instead get rid of useless wastes of space?
So much fuss over Bump Stocks which in my opinion are just a trashy device and useless. Anyone with a hand drill (or better a drill press) and some round stock or even wooden
dowel can convert most semi autos to full or even select fire in about 10 minutes.
I’ve been on the Gutenburg weekly mailing list for years. Great spot for digital books.

True. But the dregs were used to being knocked about. Snowflakes and millennials are in for a shock, hopefully in basic training. If not there, they’ll get a very rude awakening on the “Thin Red Line.”
Bruise in training, or bleed in battle.
The irony of the bump-stock ban is that using the device sacrifices accuracy. Given reports of rounds falling well outside the crowd, if the killer did use one, it may have saved lives.
The reason they hate comedy is the one thing a tyrant cannot stand . . . is being made fun of. The tyrant depends on fear, and it’s harder to fear someone you laugh at.

The only question I have about bump-stocks is; what will Trump ban next?
