- I don’t know whether the cops shot this guy in the back or in some other portion of his anatomy. But this is one case where most of us would agree they did the needed thing.
- America’s cutest dog? Hey, that’s a matter of opinion. But he’s certainly the most philanthropic.
- “We do not trust a government that sends thugs to kill us.”
- Death by GPS. It just keeps on keeping on. This didn’t kill anybody, but I think I’ve mentioned before that every GPS in the world shows my old Cabin Sweet Cabin as being three miles from where it actually is (and deep in a maze of logging roads, to boot). And that once caused a young, tech-reliant couple to get lost in the woods for two hours without Clue or cellphone signal looking for my place — after driving twice past it, with its address prominently displayed on the gate. Then driving past several other houses whose well-displayed addresses indicated they had gone too far.
- Friending the day away. Yeah, I know my friends in dog rescue say Facebook is stupendously useful to them. I believe you, guys. I just haven’t seen it for myself yet. And what I have seen makes me wonder why the world is so interested in being bored. And boring. Not to mention bought. And sold.
- An Idiot’s Guide to Living with 417 Things. They counted them. They really did. And took pictures. Well, for some folks I can see that as an aid to decluttering. Um … not me, though, thanks.
- And Oliver reports: Ward Bird is free! Not pardoned, as he should have been. But at least out of durance vile.

Claire, may I invite you to join FB, under one of your canine companions names:-) … so you CAN see for yourself how useful FB is to animal rescue … my point is, I work all day, I have little time during the week to help animal rescue (well, except for my lunch hour), but I CAN put in an hour or so every evening on FB …
Now this is what freedom is. Can you imagine anyone in America not doing anything more than gawking at the girl on the bike?

What’s horrifying as long as she knows what’s she’s doing?
“But this is one case where most of us would agree they did the needed thing.”
Probably, since nobody else in the bank was able or willing to deal with it. It still depended on a very rapid response time, and that’s not always going to be the case.
Glad the lady was ok. Must have been really scary for her.
