But if I posted it, poor old Dave would be compelled to fire my sorry self from the blogging crew.
Reader JP sent it to me this afternoon. It shows an airport “security” checkpoint.
Picture a conveyor belt. Picture a male TSA agent in blue uniform. Well, partially in blue uniform. Partially … not. Picture a blonde woman passenger with, shall we say, unusually developed glands. She is emphatically not wearing any uniform of any sort.
Said TSA agent has said passenger bent over conveyor belt and is … um … subjecting her to an unusually thorough probe. Without using … blue gloves. Or hands.
He’s saying to her (I paraphrase), “Women have unique places to hide weapons, which is why I perform such diligent searches. It’s for your own good.”
JP says he found the cartoon on an “interesting” site. You know, one of those that people don’t generally admit to visiting.
Is there anybody left who takes the TSA seriously?

As a big boy, perhaps you could give me the link? I assure you, I will not faint, judge, sue, cry or rant uncontrollably. Perhaps I could get a TSA uniform and stage the event at home in the pursuit of knowledge?
I didn’t get it as a link, EN. Sorry. It came to me as an email attachment.
Even if JP has the link, I think it’s best not to post it here at BHM.
Anyhow, I think you really can get the picture from what I wrote. 🙂 Or maybe even come up with a better picture to enact at home with a willing adult participant.
You close with a most interesting question.
“Is there anybody left who takes the TSA seriously?”
I believe the TSA may be, unfortunately, the ones that take their draconian actions seriously.
It’s hard not to take them seriously with all their violations. Especially when they feel up your Pre-Teen daughter on mere whim.
On the other hand, it’s probably a good thing they don’t do this to pets. Imagine what would happen if they “probed” Fluffy the Cat’s behind, especially without Lube.
Maybe Anonymous could start putting out all the TSA employees addresses, you know, just for the fun of it. ; )
yes, they check and check individual passengers but allow most anyone to drive onto the runways just by running through a chain link fence.
The TSA takes TSA seriously. It’s dirty work violating U.S. citizens but someone has to do it. It can be done because the employees face no risk of retaliation, legal or otherwise. Finding and publishing namde, addresses etc might help. Knowing that they can/will be held personally accountable when society slips a little more could be very helpful.
Matt, another said it best, if you ask me. They take themselves seriously-I think.
My mother actually applied to work for those monsters. I don’t know if it is a good or bad sign that they wouldn’t take her.
;-/
Oy. Yeah, when you’re not up to the TSA’s standards, I’d say you have cause to worry.
Knowing what an ardent freedomista your dad is, they must have had an … interesting marriage.
I second Teresa Sue’s motion. Does anyone know how to get in touch with Anonymous to offer the suggestion?
Laird — To whatever extent Anonymous can be said to have a public contact, it’s on Twitter at @YourAnonNews. Hard to say, of course, if it’s for real. But whoever posts using that account is clearly well informed about Anonymous’ activities. Sending a direct message to @YourAnonNews might do it.
Laird and Teresa Sue — No directory of TSA agents showing up yet. But there’s this sort of thing:

One part of me agrees with you guys. Another doesn’t. While I’d like to see TSA agents shamed into getting honest jobs. And I sure don’t accept any “only following orders” defense ever made by any low-level government thug. Yet, TSA agents are just low-level thugs, and some of them probably couldn’t find any other job in this crappy economy. Now, if Anonymous were to publish the addresses of everybody in the TSA from supvervisor level on up … different matter. Or every BATFE agent …
