Feds raid Oaksterdam University

B&^%$#@s.

Obama could have stopped all these fed raids years ago with … what, a memo to each agency? One executive order? (Because one of the few legitimate purposes of EOs is to set executive policies and instruct federal agencies.) But nooooo.

Presidents come and go. Bureaucratic fiefdoms remain impregnable. And their minions grow ever-nastier.

ADDED: Mother Jones has a pretty good take on this, too. And they don’t spare Obama. In fact, they point out that he is actually outpacing the Busheviks in number of raids. Ain’t that just the way it goes? Ratcheting, ratcheting ever tighter.

Time once again to give a nod to old FPA:

Prohibition is an awful flop.
We like it.
It can’t stop what it’s meant to stop.
We like it.
It’s left a trail of graft and slime,
It don’t prohibit worth a dime,
It’s filled our land with vice and crime.*
Nevertheless, we’re for it.

* Much of which is now and was in FPA’s day committed by the enforcers.

But Claire, you have to understand: These raids are only for our own protection! We can’t put that evil stuff into our bodies, even if a doctor prescribes it! Especially not the stuff from all those little backyard growers; that’s too dangerous, you know. I think we should all petition the government to make the FDA or Ag Dept the oversight agency to ensure the supply is up to federal standards (once legalized) and, of course, properly taxed so our dear leaders don’t loose out on the revenue.

All kidding aside, Claire, I’m with you when you declare this to be B&^%$#@s!!!!

If the feds could somehow control the market like they do (or try to, at least, for I know a few moonshiners in these parts) with alcohol or tobacco, which are drugs by definition also, and tax the h#^& out of it, I’m sure it would have been legalized quite a while ago.

When Berry was running last time I had to listen to local “horticulturists” babble on and on about how Berry would make the moon shine brighter, ocean breezes warmer, give every child their own unicorn… and legalize their sacriment. No matter what I said about Eric “The Red” Holder being a totalitarians totalitarian it fell on deaf ears. Holders record of increasing drug busts, and many other things, should have been a “small” clue. But the beast marches on.
