Okay, I realize I’m posting more blogstuff today than in the average week lately (four so far). But when you click on the link you’ll see why this news simply can’t wait a day longer!
As soon as I receive my author’s copies, I’ll be paying off a few book debts I incurred last spring.
I would love to have an autographed copy. Can I get one directly from you?
π Thanks, Fred. BHM is generous with author’s copies, and I will have more than I usually do. But I’m not sure it would be kosher to sell them in competition with the publisher. Let me talk to Dave and Annie. I’ll see what I can work out — either selling some autographed copies myself or making some autographed copies available through their bookstore. Or maybe buying some copies from them at an author’s discount and selling those custom-autographed.
Good question. Will get back to you.
I like the cover a lot – it puts you right there!
(Though I think the rifles should be moved inside. I’m sure they’re not been banned, so it must be for lack of space that they’re left outside. π
Cool! Gonna get me one of these!
Pat — blush — The cover illustration is a humble effort, but it’s my first. (Yep, I drew it.) And the rifles? They’re outside for a reason. Maybe not a good reason, but a reason, nevertheless. The illustration needed them. π
Of course you already know that the Hog Trough would never ban firearms. But … er, the place was so overflowing with firepower that day that there just wasn’t room for all the weaponry inside.
Joel — thanks and look for an email from me.
Any chance we can get ebook versions of this and your Freedom Outlaws handbook?
Here’s another wanting a autographed copy.
When does Paladin Press update their catalog next?
Ditto the autograph request.
Nice cover artwork, great job on that…..
I will be ordering my copy as soon as I have an address it can be sent to…..
Congrats, Claire, you notched another winner on your belt!!!……
It will be great to have another book from you to add to my “Claire Wolfe” shelf. Right next to my Robert Heinlein and F. Paul Wilson shelf.
Congrats on the TWO new books (even if only one is out so far.)
Brutus
[blush] Thanks for the ego-boost, folks.
Some good news and some bad news. fgbtwa, I’m sorry but BHM doesn’t issue anything in ebook format. Maybe that’ll change at some point, but that’s how it is right now.
I got an email from Dave, saying he has no problem with me selling autographed author’s copies — as long as I sell them from the blog (not eBay or elsewhere) AND charge a premium over BHM’s price. Here’s what he said specifically:
” If you sell autographed copies from the blog, charge a premium of an extra $10. You keep all the money, but that way BHM can compete with the autograph copies. If autograph seekers think the extra $10 is too much, tell them I made you do it.”
I think it’s a very reasonable request on BHM’s part. OTOH, I’d feel like some puffed-up baseball player selling autographs for $10, so I’m a bit reluctant.
Maybe $10 above BHM’s cost — but with free shipping? I dunno. What do you guys think?
The base price of the book, in BHM’s store, is $14.95 — a reasonable price for a trade paperback.
Jim B. — Not sure when Paladin next updates its catalog. But I’m assuming they’ll put the Bad Attitude Guide on their website and/or send out email notices of it as soon as it’s available. They want to begin getting it into people’s hands before the November elections, then keep it going at least through the 2012 elections.
I’ll keep an eye out and will post when I hear that it’s available.
I’d like to see you and Dave make autographed copies available. The cover art looks great btw!
Hmmm… Will an autographed copy get me extra lashes when we are rounded up and toted off to the gulag?
Lashes, Matt? Mere lashes? Ha! Expect to be waterboarded to within an inch of your life.
