Yeah. Wow. My favorite part is the when they cut the payroll tax in half. “Without negatively impacting the Social Security Trust Fund.”
That’s good. I don’t even think Penn & Teller, Siegfried & Roy, David Copperfield, Doug Henning, David Blaine, and Houdini could match that achievement if they all worked together for a year. And were all alive at the time, of course.
I’m impressed. Really.
I need a topic category for Magical Stupidity. I really do.
No, what I need is another glass of wine.

Since nothing’s been going into the “trust fund” but IOUs anyway, that’s a pretty easy claim.
Do you suppose all those magicians disappeared it?
I’ve had exactly 1/2 a glass of wine tonight. It makes me wild and crazy. Not as wild and crazy as a politician, but bad enough. So what happens if there are only half as many IOUs going into the imaginary trust fund? Or is it twice as many IOUs going it, if the payroll tax is cut in half? Does the imaginary trust fund get bigger? Or smaller? Ow, my head’s starting to hurt …
we need to call these “n0bamaisims” or something. Reminds me of his promise to cut spending compared to the year of TARP 1 & 2 (not exactly phrased this way of course). Or the promise to allow a 5 day public comment period on legislation before he ordered it signed via auto-pen, unless it was like, you know, important.
Make mine a double…
Just wait til the bulk of the Baby Boomers retire, then guess who’ll be screaming, and screaming LOUD, about the SS payments. Then guess who’ll be tapped to pay for it? Then who will be screaming. One side will be protecting the government, the other will be gunning to tear it down.
The oldest will be the ones used to what the government is doing, letting that temperature raising slowly. While the younger, getting plopped right onto the fire, with increased SS taxes to pay for the Baby Boomers retirement. Which the Baby Boomers voted for or will be soon.
Since a generation is about 20-25 years, and they’ve just started to retire, the bulk of them having retired, will be about 9-12 years from now by my estimation. Plenty of time for Obama to “retire” from the Presidency due to term limits. And disappear with the Treasury like they do in Third World countries.
Yeah, gonna be interesting times.
Hey, if they’re going to reduce my protection fees, I won’t complain. I long ago figured out that I’ll never see a penny of all the social security money they extorted from me.
The arrogance and cluelessness are amazing. This moron has never made an honest dollar in his life. He’s never made a payroll, pleased a customer, been visited by regulators, bought office furniture, or been hassled by bureaucrats. But he thinks he knows how to make small business owners jump through his hoops.
A 12-month tax cut won’t stimulate hiring. If I need someone to do a job and I know it will last 12 months or less, I go through a contracting agency. They get all the hassles and risks, I just pay them once a week. If the contractor doesn’t work out, they are gone. No lawsuits, no hikes in unemployment insurance, no medical insurance, no payroll taxes, no drama, no DOL investigations.
IF the congressthings pass anything at all, and IF it bears any resemblance to what the post-turtle-in-chief promised, I predict that contracting agencies will blossom over the land. They’ll pay low wages to temporary workers. After the elections, this particular charade will end.
There never was a “Social Security Trust Fund”, so of course it couldn’t be effected. The media makes fun of everyone who calls SS a pyramid scheme, but that’s exactly what every single history, social studies, and economics teacher I have ever had called it.
Oh it’s hard to pick just one thing out of the list but since social security is the topic I’ll stick to that. Why in the world do the powers that be and the main stream media insist it’s not a pyramid /ponzi scam is beyond me. Frankly if it waddles like a duck and quacks like a duck then it’s a duck. When did it become taboo to call a spade a spade? Like the previous poster said I’m just happy they cut my protection fund payments in half.
I’m blown away by the ‘98% of companies have a payroll under $5M’, that can’t be right, can it?
The ONLY JOB Obama has ever put forth is his SNOW JOB. He has pushed SNOW since he first entered the public scene in America….. around the time his handlers began the SNOW JOB on his birth certificate, SSN, draft registration, and all his other *public records*. Everything he has done while occupying political (elected) positions has been a major SNOW JOB and that reading of the Teleprompter last night was just recycled SNOW.
No, I did not watch – I prefer to listen to people who make sense and aren’t lying to me with every word they drop out of their programmed talks… I listened to Jeffrey Bennett as I do every week night on Republic Radio.
To those who believe anything that comes out from those of the OCCUPATION FORCE (that includes all in public office) go look in the mirror to see where the *problem* lies…. it is in the hands of those who fail to stand up and be counted against this OCCUPATION FORCE – by not working to remove them all and their loyal staffers – you are helping to take America down. Every dime you send to a sitting politician finances their work against America.
LibertyNews,
Most are basically Mom&Pops’ organizations set up to minimize taxes, regulations, head-aches, etc.
In other words, small business owners.
Liberty News: the big mega-corps that you see most often are actually only a tiny percentage of the number of businesses out there. The majority of companies are so small they only have a handfull of employees, if they hire at all.
My business has certainly never gotten big enough to bother hiring anyone.
