Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you’re all having just the kind of day you’d most like to have.
I’m thankful for everyone who visits here regularly, especially you who bring experience, wit, wisdom, and a touch of class to the joint. (You know who you are.)
Now, for your holiday pleasure, the concluding scenes from WKRP in Cincinnati’s infamous “Turkeys Away” episode:
(H/T Radley Balko for the reminder)
And, since I couldn’t find any good videos of dogs eating their Thanksgiving dinners, here are some cats. Some really serious cats. Enjoying eating turkey. (Sorry this one has a short commercial with it.):

Happy Thanksgiving, Claire !
Happy Thanksgiving, naturegirl — and thanks for brightening up this place.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
Happy Thanksgiving Claire and Commentariat all!
Happy Thanksgiving to all!
Happy T-day, Claire, et. al.
> a touch of class
People don’t usually say that about me. 😉
In the spirit of the season, and YouTube, may I direct your attention to Thermite Thanksgiving. Possible scary thought — I know one of those people, and I’ve been to that house. (But not for that particular event, dangit!)
As I’m finishing off a bomber of Dry Dock Double IPA, let me say that I’m truly thankful for yeast … and John Locke. And John Moses Browning (PBUH). And John Garand.
Happy Thanksgiving, Wilson, Karen, Kent, and jed.
And jed …? They actually ate the turkey after that? I take it they preceded the whole operation with consumption of something other than turkey … something liquid and lots of it …
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!
Wanted to stop in and say that I hope you had a good one, I can already tell that your furry friends did!
Hope everyone had a great day! Didn’t get to drop in yesterday because my extended FSW family kidnapped me and took me to someone else’s house for Thanksgiving. I wasn’t allowed to cook or clean anything! What a concept!! This getting old stuff does seem to have an occasional up side.
Love the pictures of your doggies, Claire. I brought some leftovers home with me and Laddie will certainly share them today. Right now he’s making an incredible mess with some whole roasted peanuts, which he loves dearly, shell and all. 🙂
Phone booth? What’s a phone booth?
I would bet money they didn’t consume alcohol before doing that. Trygve, IIRC, doesn’t drink anyway, and is smarter and has more common sense.
I would bet money that they did trim off the charred flesh in search of edible meat. How could you not?
Phone booth. Like a Tardis, only American. It’s one of those quaint things they had back in 1978. You know, for when their cellphones were in the repair shop.
Every year my family and some of my friends get together at my house for Thanksgiving and we always seem to be bored to death. This year, my DISH coworker came over yesterday to visit and told me about how funny this episode of WKRP in Cincinnati was. He pulled it up on DISH Online’s website and we watched it while we choked on our beer because it was so hilarious! I swear we will make this episode a Thanksgiving tradition from now on and I was so glad that it was so convenient to pull up for free on DISH Online. I swear, that website has everything on it when I want to watch something, from movies to TV shows to documentaries.
As usual late for the party … sigh.
I hope All had their plates loaded to overflow levels and their hearts full of Love and Thanksgiving.
Turkey, cornbread dressing, whole kernel corn and cranberry sauce were all present and dealt with here in my hovel.
All the Best to the Wolfe Pack and the Commentariat.
gooch
[On a side note …. Claire I am not “seeing” some of the images on the page. I refer to the images that Should be present above but are not on my browser. Any thoughts on Why such a thing happens and what one can do to view them? Aside from removing all of my browsing security features that is? Would it be possible to include a text link to those that are “offsite”? Sorry to be such a pain. -g- ]
gooch — Happy post-Thanksgiving. But as to whatever images you’re not seeing … I don’t know which ones you’re not seeing. I do know that browser security features do sometimes prevent viewing some things.
Since I have pretty much the same browser security features you do, I can tell you that I 1) try allowing the site to execute scripts and so on and if that doesn’t work 2) view the site in an alternative browser which has less security. I set that alternative browser to delete cookies, forget history, etc. And I close it immediately after using.
