Stop to help an injured person. Call 911. End up being abused in jail. Recommend nobody ever call 911 again.
Yeah, I know. “Cops abuse bystander” has become so routine it hardly merits a mention these days. But this is San Francisco where (despite growing tensions between tech-yuppies and old-timers) cops haven’t been known for such Xtreme thuggery against respectable young white guys.
(H/T He Who Dislikes Being Mentioned)

I told Officers Andreotti and Gerrans that I appreciated their prompt arrival and respected their jobs. I mentioned that I’ve had only positive interactions with the SFPD until that point. I said that, strange as it may seem, I accept my current lot and await the course of justice to set the record straight.
Welcome to our world, Peretz, you puling little capon. I stopped reading when I got to the subhead “How I Felt.”
Though at least he learned not to call cops. Or at least he says he did.
There is NO Way I would trusrt any cop today….and that includes family members I have that are either present LEO’S or retired ones. Over the years I have maybe encountered three cops that were decent…the rest or nothing but slimeballs. I once went into a police station to report something suspicious I had seen. Yeah, right. That wound up with me being suspect. I once got parked in by some idiot that backed up tight against my front bumber, at the time my vehicle was a stretched out 1 ton flat bed truck. A cop then pulled in in back of me. I came out of the store I was in…saw that I could not get out of my parking space…so I went over to the cop car. This was in summer time. He had his window down but seeing me approach he rolled it back up. I asked if he could back up a bit so I could get out….he opened his door, looked at the parkiong lines on the pavement, saw he was between them and said “I am between the lines.” Closed his door and that was all. Damm Jackass! Considering the way things are today….I can only imagine how idiotic it will be when the shtf!
A white yuppie SWPL SFer finally encounters reality. I don’t know whether to applaud his sudden consciouness raising or chuckle at what clueless doofus he was a the true nature of his [sic] Golden City.
Off topic, but Glenn Greewald’s new project “the intercept”: https://firstlook.org/theintercept/
I agree with Joel, though I did continue reading to the end.
My favorite quote; “I’m truly afraid that I’ll sound indignant and grouchy about being arrested.”
Wow! What a pussy. If that is his greatest fear, he should go the the bridge and jump today.
Welcome to the party, pal.
An old friend used to say this about cops, “There is no reason for them and there is certainly no reasoning with them.”
“the only good raccoon is a dead raccoon”
The ‘so-called’ justice system and the group formerly titled ‘public servants’ have co-opted to create such a violently dangerous system that, OBVIOUSLY, you should never -ever- call upon it, but further, keep in mind that the very best policy is to terminate on sight. If you can hide from its wrath.
Good luck on that one.
This weekend, I saw three cops hassling an old lady that looked like she might of been helping herself to donated items stashed outside the local Salvation Army store. I then drove two doors up and saw what looked like someone trying to break into a local bank. I neglected to worry about notifying LE on the possible break in. I did call cops years ago on an ATM being robbed, they called me a liar and didn’t respond. So, F-them.
[I conclude with several public service announcements:
Don’t call 911….]
He forgot one: Stop believing the government religion. And “protection implies submission”.

I called the sheriff (not 911) one afternoon two years ago when the neighbor was pounding on my back door demanding to be let in. He was a mean drunk, and very obviously dead drunk at the time. (Wife and family had already left him long ago.)
After telling the dispatcher about the situation (they knew the man well), she asked if I felt threatened or frightened. I told her I was well armed and very able to defend myself if necessary, just didn’t want to have to shoot the stupid fool. She said, “Oh, OK.” and that was that.
The deputies came a little later… no sirens, lights, swat team… and gently took the idiot away somewhere to sleep it off. He was back home in a few days.
I like it here. Not perfect, of course, but lots better than anywhere in Calif. 🙂
