Further adventures in attempting not to be paranoid

I try not to be paranoid. I really do. I laugh at Alex Jones-style alarms and snort haughtily when I see that a story originates with InfoWars.

I believe myself to be above all that. I really do. I consider much alarmist “news” to be on par with reports that lizard-brained aliens are secretly running the country. (Human-brained aliens are quite sufficiently awful, thank you.)

But then there are times …

Wonder if they plan to bus in loads of ordinary people to play the “enemy” in that little town… Maybe from NYC? I don’t see many Virginia folks going for it myself. 🙂

“The 300 acre ‘town’ includes a five story embassy, a bank, a school, an underground subway and train station, a mosque, a football stadium, and a helicopter landing zone.”

Lots of Virginia cities don’t have all that. And “towns” are even less endowed. But they DO have firearms. So… molon labe.

Anyone who isn’t wearing a uniform and is not employed by the gubbmit is the enemy. Sometimes when I read links like the one above, I feel like I’m in the Twilight Zone.

    Now, now, Claire.
It isn’t paranoia if they really are out to get you…

If it was closer I’d volunteer to be an “aggressor.” I’m an amateur actor. Plus, I’d end up knowing their tactics.

The U.S. Army does have units that specialize in hostage rescue, anti-terrorist ops, etc that would need decent mock ups for training. The Army also accepts that most of their potential fighting in the medium term future will be in built up/urban areas so regular units will need to know how to fight in the urban interface. Sucks to be a young rifleman haveing to learn to fight house-to-house OJT.

The USMC built something similar in CA to train units before deployment. I think they actually rented defucnt sound-stage etc. They used actors to be the aggressors. USMC inititally got their asses handed to them because the “aggressors” didn’t know the “rules” and kept doing things like ambushing the Marines lining up to kick in doors, booby trapped houses etc.

Although expensive, it is could be a legitmate training venue for real world, foreign ops.

My paranoia recognizes that it can be used (leased out) by other government entities that will operate in the U.S. to train against us. Maybe even used to train personnel to stage domestic false flag events. Any movie theaters or elementary schools in the plan?

You mean, lizard people are not running the country?? 🙂

Maybe the rulers have figured their imperial romp is about at an end, so they have to train the troops to do something, and crushing internal dissent qualifies as something…

Yeah, I try not to be paranoid too. But then I start to pay attention to something or other, and my head starts to wobble, and then I often fall over. It all goes better with a beer.

Meanwhile, I tell myself not paying attention is nearly as dumb as paying attention, so each individual mistake is actually quite small. That’s good, right?

Here’s what I did instead of working today, though I am pretending it was research for a couple of projects I’m working on:
