How do you spell Schadenfreude? Y-E-E

The gunblogosphere has been all atwitter with the downfall of one of California’s chief anti-gun politicians.

Leland Yee’s scandal is particularly marvelous because he’s not just accused of the usual misdeeds. He didn’t tweet a photo of his anatomy. He didn’t (that we know of) schtupp any interns. Insider trading? Junkets paid by lobbyists? Who knows? Maybe. But what Leland Yee has been accused of by the FBI is (among other crimes) gun running.

Oh, man, that justice is truly poetic. Of course, we don’t yet know if Yee is guilty of that particular crime. And the FBI isn’t exactly known for either its integrity or its competence, these days. But the accusation reads like the plot of a darkly comic movie. International smuggling! Shadowy terrorist groups! Notorious Chinatown gangsters masquerading as upstanding citizens! Big cash payoffs!

Kurt Hofmann just wrote a terrific alert on Yee for JPFO. He managed to find an angle that nobody else has covered yet.

Kurt’s article also has a wonderful illustration by the Freedom Feens crew:

Pretty slick deal. Makes sure the people who are suffering worse at the hands of the gangs are disarmed and makes sure the gangs are well armed. Less violence that way. And at the end of the day you know all a filthy Democrat loves is a disarmed victim to be enslaved.

And was anyone else as surprised as me that Peirs Morgan didn’t have him on for the final show? Epic failure Peirs!!!

Maybe he is actually a field agent for the BATFE. It would seem that selling guns to gangs and to foreign cartels is okay if you do it on Federal Govt letterhead. I guess the feds just don’t like the competition.

Nice dentures… but the eyes are too close together.

But just imagine being surprised that a politician is dishonest and hypocritical…

Matt, I’m stealing that one. I’m pretty sure his defense will be silly but get him off. This isn’t a state where the legal elite accept one of their own going into the fire.

Reminds me of Gordon Shadburne, a Multnomah County Commissioner whose hobby-horse was bashing gays – until photos started to circulate showing him in compromising positions with gays, and it was found his staff chief was gay. That was fairly amusing.

I don’t know what the fuss is all about though. Doesn’t everybody know that laws are for the peons, not the ruling class?

It’s the the gun-control version of Prohibition’s Baptists and bootleggers. The one benefits politically from Prohibition, the other benefits financially. Might as well be one and the same person.
