Shoes and clothes reporting on your activities so the manufacturers can send you more spam? Oh yeah, everyone should be ready to pay more to be spied on by their shoes… NOT.

Now the car… well, I would hope you could find the silly cameras and just put a strip of tape over them. Not sure what to do about audio recorders. Then again, I don’t rent cars. If I did, it would probably be from the cheapest “rent a wreck” rather than a big brand name.

There are ways around these things for the wary. Those who don’t care or don’t heed the warning… not sure there’s any help for them anyhow. sigh

I wonder how that “NFC” in shoes would stand up to a microwave oven?

Of course one response is to stop buying shoes with that crap in it… same deal with rental cars, just stop using Hertz, and tell them why.

One thing that might come of all this is personal recording. I believe it will become common in the future for ordinary people to wear cams and record through the day to personally-controlled storage. This will be looked at as insurance against false charges by out-of-control police departments, and even for testimony in traffic infractions.

I wish Kit Lange some luck, although I don’t see her efforts as being very productive. But I’m glad she has the energy to turn up the heat on these sheriffs, even so.

I think that ambushing cops in places like Ferguson is going to increase significantly, and when they start using deer rifles the wounds won’t be so easily shrugged off (it appears these were handgun shots from a distance of 125 yards).

I wish the researchers good luck on the study to reduce BBQ emissions. Once they get it figured out, I might apply it to my kitchen, somedays it gets mighty smoky in there.

I have a BBQ joint just up the street from my domicile. It cooks outside on a homemade grill/smoker using Mesquite. Some days the smoke rolling out of it looks like incoming fog. My only complaint though is that the mesuite smoke usually smells like whatever meat is on, and that is just a mean thing to do to the neighbors.

I heard about the woodstove restrictions and I presume they will eventually get around to my little burg but somehow doubt it will be any time soon. Until then I’ll keep using that little stove and ignoring the EPA.

and that is just a mean thing to do to the neighbors.

It’s called “advertising.” There are a couple of corners here where brisket smell will just suck cars off the street.

Charged with keeping America’s air, water and soil clean, the EPA has been increasingly looking at homeowners, especially their use of pollution emitting tools like lawn mowers.

Yup,theyve run out of targets and are scrambling to justify their existence.

    “Learning experiences. What hell.”

    Good line, that.
