On the matter of elites being out of touch: Remember this instant classic from 2012? The Follower Problem
Respect and obey your betters, maggots!
Oh my! When I first read the words “guns and weed” here, I thought you were referring to the movie made by Michael W. Dean several years ago. Here is the original on Utube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RTlSrMtCSqA
In looking for this link, I found another one which has been edited to remove a lot of footage considered “statist.” http://www.gunsandweed.com/ It seems that most of my part has been cut out, but I think it is still a good movie.
Ohgod. David Brooks. NPR’s idea of a conservative. I’m going to make up an acronym here — JAAS. Brooks is a JASS. Just Another Authoritarian-Statist.
It’s funny, though, that these elite types consider We the Peasants insane or otherwise defective for failing to follow their dubious lead. Isn’t the very definition of insanity doing the same thing over and over again when you know it doesn’t work? And who’s currently, and desperately, trying that?
Well, I stand corrected… π Looking at the new “anarchy” version (it’s been five years since I saw the original and couldn’t actually hear it then), I don’t see where my part was cut at all. Some other stuff seems to have been added, but it is an even better movie now, very high definition and good sound too.
Ah Joel, you are correct. Mr. brooks uses the words “just authority” but what he is advocating is blind followership. Just leaders and righteous followers must know the Holy Writ, or have the natural law pre-written onto their hearts, or at least recognize another man’s freedom as a good thing. Otherwise they are not just and righteous at all they are criminals and half idiots, interchangeably.
The elites are not out of touch and you are correct Claire, they are just plain wrong. Wrong because gov is their god; whom they believe in, worship, idol, and follow unto their own destruction. Religion can be a bitch, blind faith can get you killed.
G#%gle – “Part of this is just the usual story of a company growing so big that it canβt afford to ignore lawmakers and regulators any more.”
– And of course, Bloomberg View gives itself away as being part of the big globalist club as well. The writer, apparently, doesn’t have the first clue on what it takes to start and sustain a small business. Lawmakers and regulators don’t “ignore” anybody’s (everybody’s) money.
DEA motto – ‘If we can’t take your guns we’ll take your money’ (see above)
Guns and Weed?
Now there’s a good boy! Speaking of taking money; too bad you can’t shoot the revenuers with it.
Uh oh, the prepper story uses the name “Jim Rawles”. In some circles you only speak that name, full and proper, and you do it in hushed tones. I never followed Survival Mom much but, if one does take her approaches to the task, they end up being well rounded by moving in practical, everyday, increments. Interesting.
Internet trolls (the people) are not just trolling for their “own amusement and ego gratification”. Many have an agenda and are paid, yes, even by government.
Hieronymus Bosch? I recognized one of the paintings. Some of the reason they look like they were ripped from the headlines is because, it appears to this Christian’s eye, that his depictions have origins in his reading of the scriptures, perhaps. Thus the timelessness of them. In many respects, not much has changed over thousands of years or the last 500 since his death. Evil is still evil.
(He had joined an “arch conservative” religious group called ‘Brotherhood of Our Lady’
according to Hieronymus-Bosch dot org)
Excellent link list. I found interest in them all.
Another revealing article on tech giants and partisan politics can be found at http://observer.com/2016/08/tech-companies-apple-twitter-google-and-instagram-collude-to-defeat-trump/ I own Apple products, and I wonder if I have committed a near moral wrong in doing so.
loved survival mom, being a guy I take a guys view point, never thought about a womans view point of survivability. Also enjoyed the article on political elites- sadly they have not figured out that no matter how many times you do the same thing you are going to get the same results. Keep the good links coming it’s nice to read others view points.
MamaLiberty,
Thank you so much for that link to “Guns and Weed”. I had lost it in an old computer and really appreciate finding it again. You were great in it! All who made it should be congratulated and thanked. I have put the link right next to “Innocents Betrayed” by Claire Wolfe and Aaron Zelman as important documentaries.
Claire, if you have any DVD’s of that production I would love to purchase another copy as my first copy got into circulation. Either of these might make a small source of income for you besides providing a great service.
Thank you both for your service and dedication to freedom!
What the so-called elite have been doing with government edicts, laws, regulations and nanny-pesterings have not worked for the betterment of Joe Sixpack. Looks to me that the rise of the Internet has helped slow-learner Joe figure out that “business as usual” in government is pulling a really high vacuum (a polite way of saying, “It sucks.”). Anyhow, Joe’s looking for some sort of change for the better, and Brexit/Trump/Sanders look to be a better deal than the other options.
Tahn, I don’t know if DVD copies of “Guns and Weed” are still available, but I’ll ask Michael.
As for my role in it… just wish I hadn’t been so nervous and had smiled more. But, oh well. π Glad you liked it.
