Just because it was on Twitter, it doesn’t make it any less of an offense than offering a bribe to a politician face to face. Rosie would have a credible defense that she’s nuts, something most of us have suspected for years.

She’d point out that she has a history/reputation as a comedienne and claim it was a joke and obviously so, even if a bad one — real bribe attempts, being illegal, take place in secret. Even if the judge didn’t dismiss it immediately, it’s vanishingly unlikely that any 12 jurors would agree to convict.

If the “Justice” Department was interested in Rosie, they wouldn’t need a jury or a conviction. Remember Martha Stewart? The feds never did convict her of knowing too much about her investments. They finally pushed her into pleading out for answering questions differently during separate inquisitions.

    But Rosie will be Gregoryed.

Not sure who Gregory is, but you did hit on the question — is DoJ interested in Rosie? Unlikely. The Obama holdovers consider her an ally, and the sTrumpet faction realizes that she’s a rare asset, someone who can effortlessly make herself look even worse than Cheeto Mussolini.
