- Daylight saving time returns on Sunday. Be sure to &^%$#ing uselessly adjust your ^%*(_&%#ing clocks again. Sigh. But what if DST were in effect all year?
- A teacher in (no surprise) New Jersey is suspended from his job for advocating arming school staff. One precious snowflake was so upset she had to be escorted from the classroom.
- The DoJ is finally handing over those Fast & Furious documents after years of Obama-era stonewalling.
- Washington state strives to find new ways of dealing with homelessness. Some of them are alarming. (H/T MJR)
- I’m not sure when the term “soft tyranny” came into use; it’s kinda dumb. But the idea that you should free yourself from the soft tyranny of nutrition studies is pretty good.
- Yes, if you’re proposing to ban guns or gun features, you should, at minimum, understand what they are.
- And gun crackdowns have already led to too many federal abuses, as Jim Bovard points out.
- Barbie has 17 new dolls honoring women of achievement. Honoring or exploiting? YMMV; I think they’re cool and for the most part well chosen. (There’s no Ayn Rand Barbie, of course.)
- But careful what you wish for, you anti-gun women.
- Some weirdly fun street photographs.

The homeless business is a huge industry in just one county for example;
“In King County, it’s over $195 million, including city, county, state, federal and private philanthropic spending…..
https://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/homeless/how-much-do-seattle-and-king-county-spend-on-homelessness/
Just think of all of the unemployment create if that business when out business.
I’d seriously advise that nobody hold their breath waiting for full disclosure by the BATFE… on anything. David Codrea has some very relevant observations about it. http://waronguns.blogspot.com/2018/03/much-ado-about-nothing.html
Let us not forget that this would also mean women would be banned from most places of work, and their parking lots. A man would be fired for bringing on onto the premises.
And there would be demands to register all of them so that they could be found by police at a moment’s notice.
Oh, and I’d have several of them buried in the nearby state forest. (ROTFLAMO!)
I wouldn’t mind an Amelia Earhart or Katherine Johnson Barbie doll.
Those were my favorites, too. I also liked the Patty Jenkins doll. And Frida Kahlo.
And when you had a woman with you, she would have to be concealed. And you can “only” buy one a month.
Personally, I’m waiting for concealed-carry Barbie.
IMHO homelessness is more of a symptom than it is a problem. Providing more housing doesn’t solve someone’s mental illness, drug abuse, joblessness, etc. And I can’t believe, despite all the evidence that it doesn’t work, that people are still calling for rent control.
Gah! I hate DST. I don’t advocate for year-round DST either, except that I’d prefer it to switching twice a year.
