Friday freedom question

This week’s Friday Freedom Question is one we’ve visited before, but it’s always timely. I also figured I’d put it in poll form this time.

Feel free to elaborate in comments.

What’s your top preparedness priority right now?

Find a place to relocate
Improve food supplies
Improve security and defense capabilities
Improve first aid supplies/skills
Practice with what my family and I already have
Network with others/improve communications
My priorities are already pretty well taken care of
I’m just not focused on preparedness at all right now
I have no idea; I’m overwhelmed

We are so far behind in our preps, I just hope we don’t see the SHTF any time soon. We do have some very capable neighbors – so there is that.

I am working on getting an r/v to go with a small piece of land I already have…

I’m already pretty much bugged out. Some first aid refresher courses work be good but I mostly worry about running out of stuff. So more more more is pretty much my mantra whenever money allows.

I’m presuming “food” includes water, usually a problem in these parts. (Right now it’s a very rare rainy spell, with our river full, and the next one west, the Llano, flooding.)

Meanwhile, “Networking,” I’m the entertainment for next week’s local Prepper meeting, talking about how to track Texas legislation during the next Legislature, which meets January to May 2019.

My only real worry was transport, but late last march we bought a new all wheel drive to replace the very old front wheel drive SUV we had. The only thing left on the transport front, is to get winter rims and tires before we are buried in snow. As for the other things, the “beans, band aids and bullets” situation could use a little work but what I already have will get me through a few months at the very least. So while there are things to do, I’m not manic about it.

Voted for improve food supplies. For me that is expanding gardens, fruit trees, etc.

“Properly organizing all the stuff I’ve acquired over the years.”

    Hmmm. Maybe I should use that toilet paper that I put in “that” trunk for Y2K, and keep the newer stuff. {And “No”, I’m not joking. I actually have a trunk with TP, etc that I packed and set aside just in case Y2K was a disaster.}

Improve Food Supplies. Confident with the stored food, now just increasing the garden production and apple trees, etc.

I’m living check to check, pretty much. If I don’t already have it, I probably won’t be getting it. Fixing my teeth is next.

Can I pick both of the items just above “Other”?

If I could gather up the … whatever … I’d like to take some 1st aid classes.

Went from living with 2.5 million people within 20 mile radius from my house to having 2500 in the same space. There’s still a handful upriver and in the mountains that I haven’t met, but working on it!

His family treated/trusted my family like family, and then he went off to Arizona to be financially independent, (could pay for house outright there with monies he made selling house up here). Wise choice for him, and while there are less mouths to feed around these parts, a great resource and motivator are a thousand and a half miles away.

I’m a few steps closer to being able to build a house than I was last year. Hoping I can at least get a shack together by the time planting season starts. Even if it’s just a 3-season living space, it will be better than commuting.

It’s very encouraging to see how many are strengthening their financial situation in the replies to Other.

It is. I meant to add a checkbox for money matters but forgot at the last moment. Wish I had now.

Could have specified food AND water, location OR building, too, and made life easier. Oh well.

We have a few things to improve on, but mostly are working on understanding and using the preps we have now.

We have meet our short term goals and are setting up plans for the long term ones.

I will be building my own small r/v park and will allow like minded people to visit free of charge…well maybe a little free labor…ha ha . On the plus side many people up around there are already living a basic lifestyle…we often forget that about rural folks , Pat
