There have been several examples, Florida recently, that have gone to Full Year daylight savings time.
It just gives you more sunlight in the evenings, and more quality time to do the important things in life.
The TV networks and Movie industry are very much against this, though. They don’t like people having those kinds of alternatives

Florida didn’t make it this year; it’s just another thing that’s up to the Feds. https://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/politics/political-pulse/os-daylight-saving-law-20180703-story.html

Personally I’d prefer it to be light here a little later. I used to live in the part of southwestern Indiana that used Central Time, while the rest of the state used Eastern time but didn’t go to DST. That once caused me problems when I went to the part of Indiana that was on Eastern (but not DST) time and planned to get to Kentucky (which was on DST) at a certain hour. Indiana apparently now goes to DST. https://www.timeanddate.com/time/us/indiana-time.html

From Shel’s first linked article: “So Rubio’s second bill, also somewhat confusingly called the “Sunshine Protection Act,” would make daylight saving time year-round for the entire country, from Maine to Hawaii.”

Now, this I could go for. DST is nicer than standard. But as long as politicians just stop moving the stupid clocks around as if they were the gods of time, it’ll be a huge improvement.

    Note to the confused:
The sun doesn’t follow clocks; clocks follow the sun.
If you want more sun after you leave work try telling your employer you will start your shift earlier. If you don’t, your the problem. If they refuse, they are the problem. Changing all the clocks in your house twice a year is the proof that the State (as usual) is too stupid to understand this and arrogantly thinks (as usual) that there is one solution for millions of individuals. The sun could not care less, one way or the other.
